Thanks @Ron Nasty, it’s not about the “adult content” thread, I like bantering and innuendo. It’s just that some people, in very few occasions, have been slightly offensive, or seem to have a bit of an attitude. They do not post the way ladies and gentlemen should. But it’s OK, you will always have those people in a forum. So far my answer has been ignoring them (their posts do NOT deserve to be answered).
“Forsan et haec olim meminisse juvabit” (“Perhaps one day it will be a pleasure to look back on even this”; Virgil, The Aeneid, Book 1, line 203, where Aeneas says this to his men after the shipwreck that put them on the shores of Africa)

@Oudis In a way, pleased to hear your concern is with the attitude and slightly offensive nature of some posters, though as you say they are few. I myself can think of a few people who do seem like that, and are often at the centre of the rare big blow-ups that happen. It is often better to, as you suggest, to ignore those whose interaction with the rest of the forum is, shall we say, a little off, but stay on the right side of not being hugely offensive or rude.
However, I would add, if you have concerns about somebody’s attitude to others here, PM a mod or mods, and explain your concerns. Joe and the mods only have so much time and – especially when the forum is busy – do not have enough to read every post, and so may miss a pattern obvious to others. Should they feel you are right about there being a problem with how someone is consistently responding to others, they can have a quiet word and remind them of the forum rules.
This forum is unusual because of its general good-nature and respect for others and their opinions. That depends on all us not allowing low-level rudeness to persist, which can build up below the surface and suddenly blows up and becomes ugly, leaving a bad taste in everyone’s mouths. A quiet word early on can head off these unfortunate events, and the mods are all good people who will take seriously any concerns raised. Sometimes all it takes is a quiet word for somebody to realise how certain things they do, or the way they say things, may be annoying others.
As I said previously though, if somebody is plainly being rude or offensive, it is vital that the mods are informed as quickly as possible so that can put a stop to it.

@Oudis, I second RN’s post. There is one thing niggling the back of my mind, but I’m not quite sure about it. PM me, and we can see if we are thinking along the same lines.

@Oudis. Every user should feel comfortable PM’ing a mod with any concerns they have, no matter how big or small, and i would heavily encourage them to do so. It may be the case that one or two others are doing the same and so it helps the mods, especially Joe, see how things are, and, as said above by Ron Nasty, issues can fester and only become bigger before blowing up. If an issue involves a mod please PM one of the others without hesitation as mods should be leading the way in making folks time on here enjoyable.

The forum is on British time so the switch will have jolted the clock. With the time jumping back by an hour what was posted at 2:38am becomes 1:38am resulting in an hours gap.
So I should switch my time zone to one an hour ahead of me?

Absolutely no idea. That’s way above my understanding of it all. Its fine for me but then i’m in the UK. I’d suggest you just move to the UK, would save all this hassle.

Ill just deal with it then.
Thanks to both of you for the input. You know you have good mods when two are available for you in minutes.
I suggest a 60% raise!

Just send a signed petition with as many signatures of the regular users from here as possible to Joe.

When a time zone change happens on the forum, the forum will either think you traveled back in time when you set your forum time to an hour ago for example the new post indicator will indicate posts that you’ve already read, or if you set your time to a time in the future like an hour from send a formal thing that you traveled into the future and will not have any new post indications.

The time issue fixed itself.
And it’s on my clipboard, but I think:
0 + 0.6(0) = 0
Don’t know if it’s much of a raise.

It’s the thought that counts. And, it is something Joe will be able to afford, it so I think he will go along with it.
