I’m getting a popup sometimes to a site that wants me to download an update utility for firefox and says I have an old version. I have Firefox 31 so this is a virus

Still don’t have mentions, The site doesn’t redirect back to the topic after I post, When I post, their are no out ward signs that I posted. The only way you could tell I posted if you went to the topic that I posted in.

@Starr Shine? What exactly do you mean by “Still don’t have mentions”? You can’t @mention someone else, or you don’t get notifications?
Hopefully the updating thing is just a teething problem. It might take things a bit of time to bed down. FWIW it works OK for me.
I’m aware of the missing popups when you click on a person’s profile. I’ll fix it as soon as I can FTP into the server.
@UnidentifiedFiendishThingy Could you please take a screengrab if it happens again? It doesn’t sound good but I don’t know what to look for unless I can see it. I’ll check the site anyway for viruses, and you should do the same on your computer in case it’s a local issue.

Offline Ah yes. I found a 30-second limit when I was checking out admin options, so I put it in. I guess it’s not needed so I’ll disable it (if I can find the option). It’s really to stop spammers from hitting me with automated messages.
Talking of speed, the new server is running something called LiteSpeed which is a lot faster than the old one. It cost a bit more each month but I think it’s worth it. Forums are never fantastically quick to load or save comments, but this one’s doing OK, and the main site is nice and fast.

Offline I use Firefox also and this site is the only site I get popups on. I have got 6 popups today on the front page of the forum.

Offline Hi. I’m taking this very seriously, but so far I’ve not been able to find a cause. I’m not disbelieving anyone, but as far as I can tell the site is clean (Google Webmaster Tools have found no malware, Sucuri found nothing either, and I’ve been searching through files for any possible infections).
Please keep posting screengrabs if any popups are launched. Also, if you do see popups please run a virus/spyware program to check your local machine.

Hey, I can’t seem to view PMs, getting a notice saying I don’t have permission for PMs, and am I sure I am logged in (uh, yes). Yet I got an email saying someone sent me a PM.
However, a topic I started is awaiting moderator approval. If the PM is tied to that topic, is that why I can’t access it yet?
