If you get it wrong, it just doesn't come up with the Post Reply button. It stays as Do Math to Save.

I'd like to be, under the sea, in an octopus's garden, with you.

The Coldplay forum has a thread called The Oracle. or at least I think it's a thread, I can't remember. But basically it's this lady who knows EVERYTHING about them. I'm pretty sure she's in their inner circle, and answers questions you have about the band or their music, the really hard or interesting ones. It's frustrating that she only answers very few, but she gets a lot of questions.

It's hard to find someone willing in the Beatles inner circle, I understand, but it'd be neat to have a know-it-all answer questions, or a Beatles scholar or something.

like my question, where did those stage names come from, the ones subscripting the Paul, John, George, and Ringo sub-forums, and when did they come into being?

Paul used Apollo C Vermouth when he produced an album for The Bonzo Doodah Dog Band, I know that. I think all of them were used to remain anonymous when working on another artist's stuff.

George's is Italian for The Mysterious Angel, I think

Interestingly enough, Apollo C. Vermouth contains “Paul Mc rt e” in it. And if you use the v as an a, then you're only missing c, n and y…

Then you're left with 'O Ho Lo!” Yeah, I know- I've got too much time on my hands…

Dr. Winston O’boogie or whatever John was called was his nickname for himself during his Lost Weekend. His first middle name was Winston but he switched it to Ono in 1969. I think Ritchie Snare was a Lennon nickname for Ringo

I've been using the History section so much over the past few hours, which is needless to say, FAB .. but it is a little tricky to navigate .. you need a 'next day' or 'next event' button at the end of each post .. I have to physically put the number in the navigation URL bar thing .. or am I missing something?

Yes. If you’re in the blog section there are Previous and Next links just below the map. I should probably make them a bit more prominent if you’re not seeing them.

Hi Joe, I’m wondering if there’s any way that the “Introduce Yourself” thread can be modified to automatically bump itself everyday, with the result that it therefore becomes a permanent presence on the main Forum page? That way, new forum members will hopefully notice it and proceed there immediately to give their formal hellos, rather than starting their own brand-new thread to do the same.

Just a suggestion. It’d be nice to have all Forum members on the same page, both literally and figuratively!

Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

a-hard-days-night-ringo-8 That sounds like a good idea, if it’s possible. I didn’t find the ‘introduce yourself’ thread until a few weeks after I joined (I don’t think), and I know there have been people who have created new threads or just not introduced themselves.

If not the automatic jump to the top, which is a great idea, then how about moving it from the Getting Better to All Together Now section and pinning it. I would never have thought to look in Getting Better to find it. Ever since the ‘Beatles News’ thread was created and pinned, the amount of one off posts related to that have went well down to nearly none.

There’s quite a bit of talk on here at the moment of Paul’s setlist. I’m not asking you to sop talking about it, but could you write some kind of warning so I know to avoid reading it. It’s just that I hope to go to one of his concerts and I don’t want to know what he’ll sing. Try and remember please, it’ll be appreciated heartheartheart

^^ Yeah, I keep posting about the concert behind spoiler tags, and then people respond without using them. I personally don’t mind, but I’m glad someone who does said something.

Good idea. I’ve moved it. The thread is actually already linked to from the welcome email that new users receive. Whether or not they read it isn’t up to me…
