There is a thread for this already if I’m not mistaken. I’m sure @Ahhh Girl can locate it. But i remember being in London looking for something a little bit more detailed and organized. I support this idea.

It’s a great idea. I do like the idea of threads on key locations, but I’m not convinced it needs a new sub-forum – there would probably only be a handful of threads. Discussions on cities with Beatles connections are probably best in Yesterday and Today, like the ones AG posted.
The book The Beatles’ London is pretty indispensable if you’re going there. I’m not sure of a definitive Liverpool guide. Liddypool is good, if a bit bulky, and if you’re on the road you’ll need something pocket-sized. Oh, and don’t miss out on a Casbah guided tour, @AppleScruffJunior – you need to book in advance; don’t miss out. It’s hands-down the best place I’ve been to in Liverpool.
Here’s my trip to Liverpool in 2010. So long ago…

For Liverpool, you’ll want The Beatles’ Liverpool: The Complete Guide by Ron Jones.

This is a suggestion for the main site, @Joe.
In the Songs section you have alphabet links to jump to where you want to be looking. In the History section, for a while you tried page numbers to try and make it easier to handle, but it seems you’ve decided that wasn’t working too well as it’s gone. Would it be possible to do what you’ve done on Songs with History, but instead of letters using years?

I suggest that we merge fewer threads together/move fewer comments/create fewer new consolidated threads. When I see every aspect of a thing jumbled together in one big thread it makes me want to stop talking about the aspect I’m interested in.
Also, I look at my comments all out of context and not relating to anything and wonder how much of an idiot the new person reading it thinks I am.
For example, saying “did you know about _____” in the consolidated new thread entitled ____.
And once a comment relating to a tragedy (in a conversation about the tragedy) was moved to Helter Skelter because my comment mentioned the song.
Unless we spend every waking hour reading the forum, how are we to know where something has already been discussed? The search function is not that great. I never find anything with it.

Is your Twitter meant to be missing from the Home Page, @Joe? It used to be embedded, didn’t it?

@Joe I noticed a typo:
In https://www.beatlesbible.com/1…..tle-child/
You state that the recording session started at 10PM and finished at 1PM… surely the session started at 10AM not 10PM?

^ So that everyone knows, the way Joe like for us to report typos …
Leave a message on the bottom of the page (in the comment box) where you find the typo. When I put a message like that on the bottom of a page, I start the message with the word “Housekeeping” so he knows it is a “there’s something to fix” message and not one to make public.
Later in their Beatles days, 10 pm to 1 am would make sense, but in 1963, you’re probably right that it was a session during the day.

I’m finding the Beatles Books section a little jumbley (that’s a Beatles word for not as well organised as my OCD brain would like).
Would it work to have a single screen / page with the titles of books separated by category (as has been done somewhat through the posting lists) (e.g. John Books, George books, etc.) and then a hyperlink for each book title to its’ own page. There it could have cover picture, printing details and reviews / discussions for people to get a clearer picture of each book.
I’ll use the following book I’ve just finished reading as an example…
Being John Lennon (A restless Life)
By Ray Connolly
First published: 2018
Pages: 448
Contains photos.
Overview by JW OBoogie
Journalist Ray Connolly enjoyed a personal relationship with John, both as a Beatle and later as a solo artist. He was due to fly to New York on 9th December 1980 to interview John when he got the news that John had died.
Connolly’s personal insights and candid discussions with John and others around him show a man who was both a talented, creative, clever man and a confused, violent and insecure child. The narrative stretches from John’s birth to his death and includes many little insights that even the most read Beatles fan may not have known previously.
This is a very detailed, and very well documented book from someone who was there through many moments of the Beatles and John’s life.
People can then add their own reviews and comments.

I think it would be good to have sub-sections for Beatles and each solo, tho could get confusing as many books cover more than one Beatle in great detail. Not sure about moves however due to the broken hyperlinks and the effect it may have to the forum ranking in search engines (if that’s still a concern, @Joe would be able to say).
As for one main page and then a ton of link, I think the one thing would be the organising it all, would take time and then a hell of a lot of work for each book. If others wanted to do it then fair enough.
