Do you see my issue? For the most part you’re right, but I really don’t want to add any potentially incorrect info as long as there’s scope for doubt.
Thanks for your help with this though. I appreciate it a lot.

There is no smiley next to the All Together Now section. Would it be appropriate to add one? Apologies for pursuing such futile matters, but I think its a small gesture that could mean a lot.
If I could get it into the thumbnail, I’d be happy to use photoshop to make a Billy Preston smiley.

Since thanks are glitched, do you think we should get rid of the thanks option like you did earlier with the watches/subscriptions?
If you can't log in and can't use the forum go here and someone will help you out.

Getting rid of the thanks option would mean a lot of people would be making obligatory ‘thanks’ posts, which is wast of space, time, and posts.

I object to this concept of not having the option to thanks, there is nothing wrong with multiple thanks, it’s not like it causes lag or people get pissed off when they get 1 thank instead of 7, there’s no problems with it except that some people don’t like it.

I have nothing to say that contributes to the topic except to thank you for making that post, because I agree!

@Beatlebug’s irony makes me die laughing.
I really don’t see the problem with the thanks glitch. Seriously, what is it doing, other than being mildly annoying to some, that is causing so much trouble?

I’m not a fan of empty thanks where people will thank but not comment.
I find a comment is worth a thousand thanks.
But at the same time, if someone comments about how they like my post but don’t thank it, then it doesn’t feel sincere.

I’ll pass as well. Let’s make it a debilitating electric shock.
I kid, of course. If people like multiple thanking, it’s no big deal.

Same here, SS?.
I think everyone does a nice job of thanking when they agree with or appreciate a post, but commenting on the ones they feel strongly about. When I really enjoy what someone has posted, I make it a point to tell them why.
EDIT: Just now seeing Joe’s post expressing his displeasure over multiple thanks. While I did not think it was a big deal, I get it now. It would be akin to wearing a shirt inside out and having someone constantly reminding you that you did it.
If for no other reason, the practice of multiple thanks should cease out of respect for Joe and what he has created here. Thanks…once.

Under your former guise, @Dark Overlord, you made this same suggestion on 31 December in this thread. There was some discussion of the idea, with Joe giving a comprehensive response to your suggestion the following day, explaining why it was not a priority at the moment.
Joe’s last comment on it is at the top of this page.
I am sure Joe’s priorities for the site remain as they were on 1 January.

I forgot about that post, it’s sad that HMBeatlesfan had to go, I miss him but then again I can always pretend he’s here rambling on about nonsense like how great it is to be born in 1967 and to grow up in the 70’s and other nonsense he which was actually me would spurt out, but I’ve since moved on. Anyways, I’m impressed with how you remembered that and paid fine attention to detail, you seem like one of those people who pays so much attention, you can actually hear stuff like the guitar part in Little Child . I will say that even though Joe doesn’t mention instrument models, the site’s still great and I still use him as a source although unfortunately Wikipedia doesn’t consider him a reliable source.
If you're reading this, you are looking for something to do.
Some Wikipedians don’t consider this a reliable source, but others do. It honestly doesn’t bother me all that much because they’re self-appointed guardians of something, much like I am.
What does bother me a little is that they’re often happy to take info from a book at face value, even though there are *loads* of books about the Beatles that are riddled with errors and assumptions, but think because I’m a Beatles fan that this website is somehow less reliable. That seems rather illogical to me. I’ve probably spent far more time cross-referencing sources and fact checking than many of the book authors that get cited in Wikipedia articles, and the pages here get improved whenever there’s new information. I take it really seriously. Perhaps if it was in a book rather than a website the information here would carry more validity in their eyes, but then it would also go out of date quicker. idk. Probably I should have provided citations for everything I’ve written since 2008, but it’s too late now.
Wikipedia editors on the talk pages often seem like a slightly odd bunch, though. They’re very… serious about it all, which is odd given the quality of much of it. Good luck to them though. There’s room for everyone.

The funny thing is that 1 editor considered Robert Fontenot a reliable source, who knows as much about The Beatles as Fred Rogers knows about medieval torture devices, take a look at his error filled website, here’s a sample:
https://www.thoughtco.com/the-…..ry-2523774
Notice how he says Paul played guitar on Yellow Submarine despite the fact that it’s clearly just John
The worst part is that he deleted some of his articles, some of which flat out lie like one I remember where he claims George played an SG on one of the songs that was recorded live at the Rooftop Concert with a Telecaster. Somehow he’s considered a reliable source instead of you. Also, there are plenty of books regarding The Beatles that are filled with errors. For example, Walter Everett’s The Beatles As Musicians claims that John and George used their Casinos during Rubber Soul and that George used his Tele on The Beatles (AKA White Album ) despite them not having these instruments at the time and also, unlike books, your site can be edited if you make a mistake, which by the way, George was the one who played acoustic guitar on Another Girl , not John.
