Hi. I've just updated the forum software to the latest release, which fixed a few bugs. I've no idea if this will solve the issue of some threads not appearing, or it seeming as though you're not logged in, or links taking you to the profile page. I hope so.
It might, of course, have caused new issues. Please report any bugs you may see and I'll throw my hands up and admit defeat! But I will look at the small fonts that appear on certain sections – I need to go through the css from top to bottom, but that'll take some time.

I've found the same thing happen on Safari. I hadn't tried clearing the cache though – thanks for that.
I've spent the evening trying to get an ancient PowerBook G4 working properly, running OS X Panther. It's got Safari 1.3.2. Nothing works properly on that. I think I'll give up.

Switch to Windows. Before you hate, just seriously think about it. It never has problems. Well, doesn't have as much problems as mac
Linux is also a really good operating system.

Ah, the only problem I've had with Mac is you can't post using an iPad. I can't even log on with Windows.
But could you make the “songs” tab like it used to be? You know, when you could mouse over it and an alphabetical drop-down menu would appear?
If I seem to act unkind, it's only me, it's not my mind that is confusing things.

Sorry, I should've specified. Get Windows XP, or 7 (Vista fails on so many levels). What's so great about it is it's compatibility. You have no reason not to get Windows

I'm pretty sure this should be another thread in the off-topic area, but for the record I use a PC running XP at work, and a Mac running OS X Leopard at home. I'm no stranger to either OS, though I've never used Linux on anything other than a server.
Songs tab – I removed this because it got far too long and disappeared off the bottom of the page. It was impossible to browse down to Y without using the arrow keys on a keyboard. I could probably have made each entry smaller so it fit on the page, but I still needed to make the menu go upwards when the mouse was towards the bottom of the screen, and my css skills aren't that great. Plus if people were browsing on a phone or some other gadget it still might not work properly. So it went.
JoB – I upgraded the site to a new version of WordPress (the blogging software that underpins all this) about a week ago, but I doubt it's incompatible with Vista. No idea though – I don't have access to that OS.
Every OS and every browser seems to have some kind of quirk, and it's a shame that things don't seem to work in them all. Unfortunately I only have limited access to all the options out there, so I'm afraid some things will probably stay unfixed unless someone else can help with debugging. Sorry.

I think I'll change the link colours back. I was experimenting – blue looked bad but I don't think red's an improvement (it's the colour I use elsewhere on the site).
I didn't like the purple on the quotations though.

In a bid to be really annoying, I've created a new section for Beatles pics and a dozen or so threads for various years and subjects.
The photo gallery of the site has always proved really popular, but I don't nearly have time to trawl the web for pics. So I thought I'd ask for your help. Don't spend ages on it, but if you spot a really good pic of the group or their associates please put it in the right thread (or the miscellaneous/unidentified section if you're unsure).
Bigger pics are better – thumbnail ones aren't really very useful.
I know this might seem lazy, like I'm asking forum members to do work for me, but it would really help make the site better. It's an endless task, looking for Beatles pics, so if we can harvest them as we go along it'd make life a lot easier.
I thought a pictures section might also be a good place to put various animated gifs or Beatles joke jpegs too, but there's no thread for those yet. Feel free to create one if you want.

Because I can't actually make tags myself. The forum software is an off-the-shelf plugin for WordPress. All the functionality is what's bundled with the plugin, plus a few things I can tailor myself (eg smileys).
