If we unlock one at a time a) we have to lock all the others so folk cant post in those (never mind the calls to unlock ones that folk want to play there and then – why does one remain closed when another is not?) and b) there will be a time when all will be open as they take an eternity to finish and folk get bored (hence why there are a number unfinished).
Joe closed them to bring the forum back to more of a Beatles discussion forum and its worked so i fail to see why they should be unlocked.

Offline Which leaves open the chance for other folk to start new ones in there which the mods would have to run around locking and moving.

Offline *let it be* searched as phrase (topic title only, all forums) gave me the warning the first time, but when I tried it again I got this list result https://www.beatlesbible.com/f…..;include=2 . Weird
To play around some more, I searched *new be* as a phrase for titles only in all forums and got https://www.beatlesbible.com/f…..;include=2 . I did it again, and it just gave me the error message. Weird.
*new* by itself didn’t work for me for any type of search.
*new album* searched using the any word option gave me the warning message but did return a list https://www.beatlesbible.com/f…..;include=2
Yeah, I got nothing as to why the search thing does what it does with short words.

For any word 3 letters or less use apostrophes at the beginning or end. So for Let use ‘Let’ and that will bring up all the results (this example being for topic titles only). Additionally if you know the sub-forum its in you can navigate there first to further narrow down the results.
Thanks for the tip about the apostrophes. I tried your second idea first, but now that all of the songs were added, there are so many more pages to navigate. I went through 20 and gave up. I probably skipped it somehow.

Offline Can I suggest a post in the forum guides with all the possible smileys and the results? I just discovered :mad: by accident and I’m wondering what other BBcode and smileys are out there! The Beatles smileys are fine but I can’t make out half the facial expressions anyway and I’m just following the convention for how people are using them, I’d like to be able to use the other smileys when I need to!
I'm like Necko only I'm a bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin and also everyone. Or is everyone me? Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe. This has been true for 2016 & 2017 
but I may have to get more specific in the future.

You could find them via the song or album page. If there’s a related forum thread you’ll see a link at the end of the article. I can’t change the search function, sorry.
@ewe2 Little yellow smileys are automatically added by the forum software (Simple Press), and a different set by the site CMS (WordPress). I could disable them but never got round to it. The Simple Press ones aren’t shown by default but can be accessed by typing any of the following :words: enclosed by colons.

Offline Don’t think so, sorry. Can you change the font colour to white so people have to highlight them? It’s less elegant and wouldn’t work so well on mobile, but I can’t think of another option.

Offline Somewhere in my travels here I found that someone (AG or AD40?) has trouble accidentally deleting posts that took significant effort. I have the same problem. I’m wondering if there’s some way to have the site make a backup of your post every couple minutes? The hard part would probably be designing the system to recall the saved post (or it could revert to it if you got out and tried to reply again). In fact that happened to me tonight – twice I killed the whole window, opened it back up, I was still logged in, and when I went to reply my previous text was there. However, when I had to re-login, there was no sign of my post.
