I’m not sure what Mr Big was trying to say, but I get that Bad Gateway message a lot, however, never with posting. Perhaps it’s to do with your new Moderator status.
I think it was doing it before. But I don’t keep a journal of these things.
I looked it up, and basically the server is sending back an invalid response. (I apoligize to any IT people if that seems like pointing out the sky is blue.) It seems that it’s either my ISP or something with this site. But since it’s happening only on this site for me, and for you too on Safari, I’m leaning towards the latter. Another project for Joe.
Ad hoc, ad loc, and quid pro quo! So little time! So much to know!

I know that you’re a very busy man, Joe, but the Album of the Moth is still Help !.. Just a friendly reminder, of course.

I guess it’ll be a problem with the software the site uses. As Joe always says, it’s one of the problems with using third-party software.

Haha, album of the moth. Can I request an album of the bull, please?
I think it’s a fine feature. This site isn’t just for hardcore fans, it’s also intended for new fans trying to find out more about The Beatles.
Yes. Like Me I just started to get into them again abd I’m trying to learn everything I can!

I’ve been seeing some typos in the boxes on the Home page.
“We got backstage to see Maharishi, and I said to him, ‘Got any mantras? – George Harrison
It’s missing some quotation marks. There are others like that. I don’t know where to post typos found on the Home page; sorry if this is the wrong place.
EDIT: Just realised: I’m on the Apple rooftop! 4th person there!
OK, thanks for all the messages. I’ve been out of the country for a few days so I’ll try and deal with all of these.
The ‘bad gateway’ message drives me mad. It’s a server error I need to get fixed – I’ll email the guy who set up the server, as it’s only been happening since I moved hosts in November. I think it’s to do with temporary traffic spikes, and happens right across the site. If you’re trying to access a page, just hit refresh and it should reload. If you’re posting, however, it might mean your message gets lost. I’m sorry about that – I’ll get onto it.
Album of the month for May is supposed to be Let It Be , but I had a crazily busy time last week and didn’t have time to write the article. It was easier just to keep Help ! as AOTM. I’ll try and write about LIB today as I have the day off work.
Thanks for letting me know about the missing quotation marks on the homepage. I’ll take a look.

Actually I don’t think the messages do get lost. Even when I cancel a post then try to write a new one, the old one is still there. Which is very helpful sometimes, but can get very irritating other times. Especially if it does when using the “quote and reply” feature.

Joe, the timezone option thing automatically adds on an hour during daylight savings. In Queensland, Australia, we don’t have daylight savings so it’s saying I’ve posted my messages an hour in the future.
That’s an interesting one. There are options in WordPress for setting the timezone. At the moment it’s set to London, as it’s the nearest area for me, and daylight saving time is automatically adjusted by the server (ours is BST, or British Summer Time).
The alternative is to change it to UTC (Coordinated Universal Time, an equivalent of GMT), but this doesn’t compensate for daylight saving and so won’t automatically adjust ever. Clearly neither option will work for everyone, as it’ll be wrong for around half the year for most people.
I’ve found a plugin which would override the stated time to display your (and everyone else’s) local time. The downside of that is that it’ll change all the times for my historical blog entries too, which will mean if you’re in Australia some of the dates won’t be correct (ie the date of the Apple rooftop concert might be shown as a day other than 30 January 1969, if your timezone is very different from GMT/BST). I’m afraid I’d rather not have that happen, so I’ll have to leave it as it is.

That’s fine. Queensland will probably get daylight savings soon anyway to bring us in line with the other states. We don’t have it at the moment because people say it’ll be too hot to have more daylight, which I agree with. We need it in winter when the days are short and (relatively) cold, not summer when the days are long and hot already. Also, the farmers say the cows are used to being milked at a certain time so if they try to milk them an hour earlier, they won’t like it.
