Oh! It is just so different looking. It is certainly cleaner and more modern looking. I think we are all just experiencing future shock. It’s like coming home from the movies and seeing that your decor had all been changed from shabby unchic to Swedish modern.

Joe, BeatlebugI say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

I like the stats dropdown on the desktop version, makes for a cleaner page! I think the mobile version is slightly more confusing than the previous theme, I quite liked how that theme worked on my smaller screen Android, because I could see what the unread posts were without loading another page. And I notice that the stats dropdown has disappeared from the mobile version when you browse a thread.
I'm like Necko only I'm a bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin and also everyone. Or is everyone me? Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe. This has been true for 2016 & 2017 but I may have to get more specific in the future.

Crossposting this for feedback. That’s an odd problem you have @Joe.

Thanks to everyone who said nice things about the redesign. And apologies again for the things that are wonky. I’ll keep digging until I can fix it all, and thanks for your patience.
I’ve been putting it together over some time and had thought everything was OK, but there are always small things that are hard to anticipate. I know I didn’t announce it until just before rolling it out, but I didn’t mean it to look like it was rushed – it wasn’t.
Overall I’m really pleased with it particularly the carousel on the homepage. I was photographing my vinyl LPs yesterday and I love how it looks! There might be other design tweaks i can make to keep things looking modern.
I’ve been trying to get the site in a better place for when I give up my job after Christmas. I’ve been focusing on a few things: improving images, the design, and promotion on social media (I’m automating this as much as I can, so after I’ve posted a year’s worth it’ll repeat on the relevant dates).
All this means that in the new year I’ll hopefully be able to focus more on writing and other improvements.

This is the part or me that needs to reorganise the Beatles section of CDs in shops and can’t have plugs turned on when nothing is plugged into them – unlike John I have got time for trivialities (the first time i’ve used that word on here outside of the song – i feel like having a party!!)
On the carousel why are the US Capitol albums on the first slide and going from right to left whereas the UK albums are on the third slide (that image looks amazing by the way, is it available full size)?
"I told you everything I could about me, Told you everything I could" ('Before Believing' - Emmylou Harris)
The US albums one was a stock Apple promotion image. The LP spine one was mine.
Sorry, I’m going to ruin things for you. The Anthology albums are in the wrong order. Some of the later releases might be out of sequence too..
The LPs pic was done on my phone. I had to Photoshop it a little to get the titles of MMT and the White Album in shot, though I forgot to do the same with LIB and Abbey Road . Never mind.
They’re mostly mono reissues, with the stereo remasters where there aren’t any monos. Live At The BBC , Live At The Star-Club and Hollywood Bowl are originals. I’ll have to update it when the new live album comes out.

Joe is going to change my name to Needy Girl.
In addition to adding the drop down menu on mobile, I hope there is an easy way to put the “jump to page” feature at the top of the page (in mobile and desktop) in addition to it being at the bottom of the page. It saves me quite a bit of time.
And (oh no, another and), an arrow feature that will jump you to the bottom of a page would be nice. OK. OK. I’ll stop.

@Ahhh Girl If you’re on desktop (maybe for mobile too) and you click on the little message boxes next to the latest poster’s name, it’ll take you to the latest post. The arrow is more convenient though.

Yeah. That needs reorganised. Holywood Bowl after Past Masters but before Star Club, Anthologies out of order. You can do it when you get the reissue of Holywood Bowl, Joe.

I don’t see a way to navigate through the pages without scrolling to the bottom. Is there anyway to put a browser at the top?

So far I have mixed feelings about the changes – I am finding it a little difficult to quickly spot what is the original post and what is the reply when people quote things in complex messages; otherwise all good so far.

Yeah, they run into each other now. Used to be your quoted piece was in gray with who said it, much easier to differentiate them.

Warning: Somewhat confusing and kinda-not-positive stuffs ahead
WHAT HAPPENED HEEEEERE??!!??!?!?? I saw the homepage and thought I’d clicked the wrong website link! (Oh well, time to re-adjust to the forum again.)
To be completely honest, I’m not really sure I like this new look to everything. What I’m saying here is not that the colours, slideshow-thingy at the top of the homepage, other aesthetics, etc. are a real problem to me (the only thing about them is that I have to get used to them, that’s all), it’s more a problem I have with some of the layout/design-y bits. For starters, there’s what has already been mentioned and/or is being addressed (confusion with who-wrote-what in quotes, not having a skip-to-page-whatever bar at the top of the page, etc.), as well as another issue or two that I’ve found (the new font size {especially on posts and spoilers} and the lighter-coloured text in the quotes make things hard for me to read at times {anyone else have this problem as well?}, and though part of this might be caused by my computer, I’m sure that some part of it is caused by the recent changes).
On the other hand, however, the new look gives the site a bit more of a professional edge. Also, the spot where you type up your post is the same, which adds a nice touch of familiarity to the whole thing.
I’m sure all of these roadblocks will be worked out eventually and I’ll get used to the site again, so I’ll give it some time before I make my final decision on whether I can accept all of these differences.
And sorry, sorry, and sorry again about all this unpositive feedback. It could help with knowing what should be look at more closely and potentially re-worked, however.

I guess it’s like the new TV remote I got for Comcast when I upgraded to HD. It’s weird at first because many things are in different places. I’m sure we were all comfortable with what we had before, but we will get used to this new format. It may take several months for some of us though.
You are all my friends.

It’s in my nature to resent changes to something I was familiar with, so I knew better than to decide whether I liked the new look or not when I first saw it. Still getting used to it, but apart from technical glitches (quotes, profile pop-ups being transparent) and the aforementioned navigational inconveniences, it’s quite clean. Does look more modern than the old version.

… On PC, the font is in serif, which I find very weird (the forum font was one of my favourite technical things about the BB). Is it like that on mobile as well? I was on a tablet this morning and the font wasn’t serif, but I thought changes may have been made since then.
