Ok, looks like this is broken again (the vote buttons are definitely missing on this iPad w/Chrome). I’ll try to look at it tomorrow.

This shows up in the “Did You Know?”

In the US The Beatles spent 174 weeks at number one in the UK albums chart, and 132 weeks in the US.

Frankly, I don’t understand it, I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because English is not my native language?

It means in total. If you add up all the weeks the Beatles were #1 in the UK with all their albums from Please Please Me onwards it would come to 174, do the same with the US and its 132.

What does the first part mean? “In the US The Beatles spent 174 weeks at number one in the UK albums chart” Does this mean that the US has a chart containing UK albums?

I read that 4 or 5 times yesterday and never picked up on that, couldnt make it read incorrectly (i do that). I presume its a typing error.

Yes, it’s a typo. Thanks for pointing it out.

Don’t know if this is the right place, but it’s a suggestion of a change to the site. I get this whole list of new posts when I log in, and I check them all to see what is said. Today I had to go through, and every time I had to go back to the top of the last page to get the current Fab Forum as it stood. Would it not be possible to put a Fab Forum at the bottom of the page, maybe next to the Add Topic button or the “Page:” bit?

Was reading your article on “Charles Manson and Helter Skelter ” and there seems to be a typo. On the first page you say, “He also found references to the imagined apocalypse in a number of other albums, many of which appeared on the White Album .” Shouldn’t that be “…a number of other songs/tracks”?

Thanks. I just wasn’t sure where to put it because I’d seen the “174 weeks” up above and that was about a typo. I’ll go back to commenting on page like I did with Maggie Mae .

I’d like to welcome our new moderators, Mithveaen and Zig! I’m sure you’ll make them welcome a-hard-days-night-george-10

I needed new mods as I’ll be on paternity leave shortly, and it’s didn’t want Skye to have to do it all.

A retro post from 6 April 2011. @Zig, what is this about the keys to Joe’s liquor cabinet for the mods?

This is not a revival of a thread to use like we use the newer and currently active “Fourm Changes” thread. This is just a fun look back moment to when Zig and Mith became mods.

I meant to add this link. The post is number 329 on this page. The discussion following that post is a fun read.

Is it possible to show who the “most thanked” member is?

Why would you want to know?

Would there be any benefit to this?

Folk get thanked for helpful replies to Beatles questions, for humourous posts, for support and replies to life happenings, for support with the forum, even at times by mistake. I’m not sure what the highest total would show – aside from the obvious.

I have no reason for wanting to know. I just want to know. We could honor the forum member with a turkey to symbolize all of our thanks giving.

Personally i think there is a difference between how many times folk have posted and how many times they have been thanked.

Personally, I would rather know who the most thanked is than the person with the most posts. Anyone can sit at the computer and post nonsense ad infinitum, but it takes a clever or useful person to be thanked, right?
