Right. Yes, boring explanation (I hope I get this right).
If you’re signed in you don’t see a cached version of the site/forum, you see the very latest additions (posts, comments, stats etc – actually, I think the stats only update every hour or half-hour anyway, regardless of whether you’re signed in).
If you’re not signed in, just a casual visitor or a search engine spider, you get a cached version. I can’t remember how long the caching lasts – it might be up to an hour, I can’t remember. It’s to help save bandwidth and make the site a bit speedier, as most visitors never log in. Congratulations – you’re the first to spot it!
What this all means is that signed-in people (such as yourselves) get a slightly slower version of the site, but it shouldn’t be all that much worse. Unfortunately I can’t cache the forum as nobody would see the latest posts and it would be unusable, so it’s the best solution. It’s probably only an extra second or so on load times.

Pardon you, we have our very own Beatles historian in the house Mr @Ron Nasty .
Also we have a librarian, a chemist, a Zig, and countless other people- pretty impressive!
We could probably set up a decent functioning village because we have healthcare, education, IT individuals, entertainment, someone probably has a licence to drive a bus here- we’d do alright
