I’m just curious when the listing at bottom left says we have 4 folks currently online and 62 guests. Are those real people, bots, hits from search engines trawling for data, visitors from the twilight zone or a mix of all of that (or other thingies)?
Oh, and if you are real people – come in and join us – the water’s fine

It can be a mixture. I, myself, would usually appear as a guest. There is always a tab open on the forum on my browser and I only usually log in when I have something to say. I have just always found it easier to follow the most recent posts list you get when logged out than the unread posts list you get when logged in. Often when I log in, and look at that list, I have found it missing many of the most recent posts. It is why I am often able to respond quite quickly when something’s said I want to respond to.
Not that I am looking at the page the whole time I am awake, just that I drop onto the page at irregular intervals and refresh to see what’s most recent.
For those who are genuine guests, I would second your invitation to them. I spent some time as just a guest, looking at what people had to say but staying silent myself, but haven’t regretted joining up with this wonderful bunch since I jumped in around a year ago. (Ooo… just noticed, it was my first anniversary here yesterday!)

And I was wondering how you managed to reply when needed when you were not showing up as Online – are you sure you are allowed to give away trade secrets like that?

Offline I join the others in being that you are a part of this forum, mja.
When I see that I’m the only one logged on by name and bunch of guests are “in our house,” I think about what I am going to do to entertain them all as though we, and they, are in a real house. I wonder if I have enough coffee and scones to keep them all satisfied. I don’t think I’ll ever shake that dream I had about all of us residing in that big house.
