Maybe it’s just my crappy connection. Apparently no one else has problems going into that topic, and I’m glad to see so many responders. However, every time I open that topic, my computer suddenly starts freezing up and slowing down, and once it took like 15 minutes before I could even scroll around to look at comments.
My theory is that all those YouTube links clustered in there are immediately engaging with my computer, barraging my computer with various “cookies” etc that my computer has to process, even before I can resume normal navigation.
Again, this is not much of a problem if you have a normally good high-speed connection and/or a good computer.
Apparently, I have neither.

Gah. Should have read this BEFORE clicking on the “Discovered any new music lately?” thread.

Wonder if that’s going to happen to the YouTube thread. I posted my latest ones as links instead of embedded videos to be safe.

I meant to add — I usually don’t have problems navigating threads that have a couple of YouTube videos. I don’t know why that particular one causes my computer so many problems — either the sheer number of videos is doing it, or maybe one or more videos have extra encoding or something.

This is a good topic to bring up again. Placing videos in a post, instead of just links to the videos, can make the page load very slowly for some people. That gets them aggravated. We’ve even had this discussion more recently. See the conversation that starts here in the pet peeves thread. https://www.beatlesbible.com/f…..0/#p141901
I can see it both ways. The enticing video picture makes it much easier to click on the video to watch it. That way I don’t have to click on the link, wait for another page to load, then click on the video to watch it.
If you have an opinion on the matter, please feel free to state it here so we can keep the conversation together. I know we won’t end up pleasing everyone with the decision that is made, but be assured that we are listening to your ideas. We may end up going with “do which ever one you please”. We will see.

I prefer adding the link to the word or embedded the videos in a spoiler tag so people can open it if they want too
EX: adding as a link with text (If unsure how to link click here)
The Beatles – Dancing in Hello Goodbye
EX: Embedding a video behind a spoiler tag (If unsure how to use a spoiler tag, click here)*
Hello and Goodbye dancing (Under Spoiler)
* Spoiler tags don’t work when PMing someone

I’m digging that spoiler tag option.
