He’s wrote a number of Beatles books and co-hosts the ‘Something About The Beatles‘ podcast with Richard Buskin.

@Joe
Having just finished the proper text of Hunter Davies’ The Beatles Book, I was scanning the appendixes. When I got to the end of the Bibliography on page 669, there were only 4 websites mentioned. beatlesbible.com was at the top of the list.

I was listening to the Beatles podcast ‘Nothing Is Real’, when I was in Cologne. I was sitting on the train going over the bridge back to the city centre and they were talking about Beatle books. One of the last books they recommended was a book by Joe Goodden. I was sitting there, thinking…Joe Goodden…I know that name…who the….IT’S JOE ?
Thanks for bringing that mention to our attention, ASJ!

This article talks about a Beatles song that was deemed “too weird” for the White Album . What song is it? read the article. If you know your cut White Album tracks you should be able to guess. I guessed correctly.

Anyway the Beatles Bible is referenced towards the end of the article.

That article said: “they had long hair and beards, nolonger played concerts, and wrote songs like ‘Strawberry Fields Forever ‘ and “It’s All Too Much ‘ “
It’s All Too Much is a really deep cut that i’m surprised that article’s writer picked.
they could have said picked Maxwell’s Silver Hammer and i would have been less surprised.
either;
the writer is a hardcore superfan
or
the writer picked a song they know they’ve never heard before just to seem more knowledgeable
and if it is the latter i don’t mind as long as the writer actually listened to the song afterwards.

Yeah I thought that was an interesting pick of a song too. I would have guessed he’d say “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds ” or something like that.

What annoys me is the guy links to the Beatles Bible article on the song, saying the following information comes from here, and then gets the fact he’s sourced to @Joe COMPLETELY WRONG!!!
According to Beatles Bible, John suggested releasing it as a single with “Why Don’t We Do It in the Road?”
That’s not what Joe says at all in his article:
Lennon created three new stereo mixes on 11 September 1969, for a potential release by the Plastic Ono Band. He wanted the song to be issued as the b-side of You Know My Name (Look Up The Number), which would surely have been one of the most bizarre singles by any mainstream artist in modern musical history.
If you’re gonna source something to Joe, damn well get it right, and don’t make it look like he makes silly mistakes to those (the majority) who rarely investigate links.
Especially when there’s no comment option I can see to get it corrected.
