Other than books and movies, any way of getting Beatles paraphernalia (mugs, T-shirts,..) through BeatlesBible?

Are you are talking about Beatles-themed goodies via Amazon? If so, I have the answer.

After you click on the link, whatever qualifying items you buy (even if it is from the Amazon marketplace) for the next 24 hours will count for Joe.

Your Amazon total won’t increase. Amazon just gives a percentage of the sale to Joe.

After you go to the link, just carry on as you normally would searching for the items you want to buy.

If anyone has further questions about this program, let me know.

As a side note, it would be cool if we had an official licensed BB t-shirt and coffee mug. We just don’t want too many officially licensed products that would get mmm in one of his “useless crap” modes like he does with Apple products.

It’s a nice idea, but I’d be wary of running foul of Apple Corps, for the same reason the Fest for Beatles Fans had to change their name from Beatlefest – ie they were told to make it sound less official. Obviously this site isn’t official, but if I started marketing mugs, t-shirts etc with a derivation of the drop-t logo I might well get a lawyer’s letter.

I have thought about selling t-shirts featuring non-trademarked words (‘Eggman’ was one, can’t remember any others, maybe ‘Come Together ‘). I actually made some designs but my hard drive died before I could set up a CafePress account. Perhaps I should think a bit more.

For @Expert Textpert and anyone else who is interested.

You can go to this link

and set it as a bookmark on your computer like this:

bookmark-line.JPGImage Enlarger

and make it an icon on your mobile phone’s home screen (see between Messenger and Music on the left column):

That way you have a better chance of remembering to go through Joe’s Amazon link.

I just noticed that I need to change my bookmark to “Starr Shine?’s backup forum”. 🙂

Today is Amazon Prime day. If you buy something from Amazon, remember to use the link in my signature to help Joe with the site.

Any chance of an Amazon.co.uk link? I’m probably their No1 customer.

PS I did buy Joe’s book to add a small amount to the coffers but haven’t started reading  it yet.

@Leppo, @Joe set that link up to go to the Amazon page for the country you’re in. Have you tried the link? Does it go to the UK Amazon page? It shows the cover of Revolver .

This is the UK link

Please let me know if the link in my signature goes to that page when you click on it. If it doesn’t, Joe will need to look into fixing it.

Here’s the German Amazon page for Joe.

I have the link saved on my bookmark tool bar on my computers and as an Amazon icon on my phone home screen. Ease of use, you know.

Joe said in the advertisements thread
OK, it seems that Google was running an experiment on my site, targeting a percentage of visitors and showing them popups in-between occasional page loads.

I’ve turned off the experiments so hopefully it won’t happen again (at least until Google decides to auto-enrol me again).

It did increase my revenue, which was obviously welcome, but I generally dislike popup ads (known as vignettes) so I disabled them. Ads are a bit of a necessary evil to keep this site going, so many thanks to everyone not using an ad-blocker.

Just a reminder that you can do some things monetarily to help keep this site operational…

Don’t use an ad blocker while on the Beatles Bible (see link for instructions)

Donate using the donate button…looks like this paypal_donate.gif

Use the iTunes and Amazon links found in some of our signature lines

Every Little Thing helps Joe with the best Beatles site on the internet. apple01

Thanks everyone!

I’m trying to work out how to reduce the amount of ads that get shown on the site without my kids ending up starving. This site is my main income source (the book still sells a little, but not like in 2017-18), and I’ve managed to avoid getting a proper job since leaving the BBC in 2016 (I do freelance bits and pieces here and there, but really I’m trying to be a full-time music writer). I’m trying to add content and grow traffic to the Bowie site, but that takes time – it should start paying off properly in a few years.

I can totally understand why people use adblockers, and a lot of ads are just awful, so I appreciate each and everyone who’s whitelisted the Beatles Bible. That said, you forum users are the ones who have been contributing content and building the site for years, even when I’ve been distracted elsewhere, so please don’t feel obliged to do anything you really don’t want to.

As for the Amazon links, here’s a handy single link (it’s in my signature too) that should take you to your country’s site automatically. Any purchases through that will give me a few % kickback at no cost to you, so that’s absolutely awesome and hugely appreciated.

I just realized I don’t have this website whitelisted paul-mccartney-facepalm_gifpaul-mccartney-facepalm_gifpaul-mccartney-facepalm_gif I never thought about it since I switched my search engine to DuckDuckGo (which automatically blocks ads and trackers) but I’ve fixed that now, thanks for the reminder! Whitelisted. That’s the word I was looking for.

I’ve found it easier to order from Amazon in various countries to send gifts to family and friends. No boxing, no shelping to the post office and filling in forms, no worries of custom duties, and the items arrive faster.

I’m hoping these link have been working, @Joe. Do you see a set of cooking pans bought from the UK in the past few months? The difference seems to be with the number before the -21. Or if there’s something I missing entirely, please let me know. I put spaces in the URLs so they could be seen easily in the post.

Here’s the link I use for Germany https:// http://www.amazon.de/ dp/B0025KVLTC/?tag=beatbibl06-21

Here’s the link I use for the UK https:// http://www.amazon.co.uk/ dp/B0025KVLTC/?tag=thebeabib-21

If anyone needs to use an Amazon that isn’t in their own country, we can figure it out.

Here are the countries with their own Amazon sites:

Australia
Brazil
Canada
China
France
Germany
India
Italy
Japan
Mexico
Netherlands
Saudi Arabia
Singapore
Spain
Sweden
Turkey
United Arab Emirates
United Kingdom
United States

I see there will be a amazon.pl for Poland soon.
