At lease we have this tool nowKnowing when to stop a conversation that is going askew can be straightforward sometimes, but not at other times. Joe and the mods have to walk a fine line sometimes. Some topics cross over into other topics and some people want the conversation moved, while others don’t. What’s a mod to do? Definitely can’t please everyone all the time.
I think we are doing better about staying on-topic now in the “meaty” hardcore-beatles-topics threads, but some of the “fluffy” threads may get a bit helter-skelter at times.
If you see a thread drifting too far from its purpose, you can mention it on the forum yourself, or feel free to send Joe or one of the mods a PM to express your concerns.
“After all is said and done, you can’t go pleasing everyone.
So screw it”
This is pretty much my stance as a mod, we aren’t going to please everyone so we look to do the best we can. Sometimes us mods (which includes Joe) miss the mark for whatever reason but our intentions are always for the better of the forum, even if that doesn’t always come across. We are always contactable so if anything ever bugs anyone please feel free to send us a PM.
If you like what we are doing feel free to send us money, chocolates, anything Beatley (good Beatley not bad Beatley like that dreadful remix. Could easily be the worst thing I’ve ever seen on here).

To the Admins and Mods and others who keep this site rolling;
When I first discovered this site, I thought I was a Beatles fan and that I knew a bit about the Beatles. I remember a “game” in the forum where someone would post a photo/drawing/what have you suggesting a lyric or title of a song. I also looked at some of the other forum subjects and discovered that although, I know a lot about the Beatles, I know very little compared to many of the aforementioned group. I am not looking for sympathy. I am just saying that this site is almost overwhelming for some of us. Perhaps that’s because so many of you seem to be from the UK(?) and have had more access through the years (I’m thinking pre internet). I almost feel unworthy.
That being said, I do enjoy having a place where the greatest rock band of all time is celebrated and debated. I remember someone remarked on this site some thing to the effect of the more I hear the Beatles, the more I hear the Beatles. I want to second that.
I also want to say that it is important that the generations that follow need to know where their music comes from. I am a child of the sixties and I am always reminding the younger generations of the importance of roots. A place like this broadens my knowledge and keeps me honest (correct) when I am preaching The Beatles gospel.
Thank you again to all involved and keep up the good work.

@Georgefan, I came to this forum almost cold turkey. I didn’t discover the Beatles until 2013 when I was 45 years old. I checked Shout! out from my library and started reading it (I didn’t know about its reputation at the time). When I came across something in the book I wanted to know more about, I surfed the ‘net to delve deeper into that topic. I ended up finding this site. I felt like (and still feel sometimes like) I am trying to drink from a fire hydrant that has been opened.
I love learning new factoids about the Beatles all the time from my fellow forumpudlians.
I hope you keep returning to our happy forum to learn and to contribute your thoughts on the Fab Four.
Oh, and I’m glad you mentioned that fun game I started. https://www.beatlesbible.com/f…..s-picture/ I see you first played the game on page 6 of the thread.

Ahhh Girl, thank you for the response and the bit of your history re “discovering The Beatles”. And that “drinking from a fire hydrant” metaphor is apropos. I grew up listening to The Beatles but was a little to young and naive to get them. I started really listening closely to their music, especially their early songs after college when I had exhausted everything I could learn about Elvis Presley. I too, found this site by accident and I am glad that I did. Also, please note that I am an analog guy trying to live in a digital world so my posts may not be as fancy as some but are meant with sincerity and respect. And finally, I acknowledge all those who thank me for my post.

Does anyone know of a good discussion forum for discussion about the Beatles? I mean one where every day within a few hours at the most, your post or response will be answered with one or more responses.
On a related note, someone told me about a discussion forum for McCartney called “MACCA Central”, and I think I remember going there years ago. Did they just collapse? I can’t find a forum under that name at all, and their Twitter account ends in July 2010…
Now today I find, you have changed your mind

I just Googled “beatles forums” and got this page https://blog.feedspot.com/beat…..es_forums/ They say we average 10 posts per day. We are only behind Reddit on activity level.
The DM’s Beatles Forums games/trivia threads haven’t had a post since July. A little smattering of discussion goes on there.
The Steve Hoffman forums about the Beatles have some activity as does the Maccaboard.
All-in-all, I still think our happy Fab Forum is the best place to discuss all things Beatles.
Maybe we all need to advertise the site more…like this perhaps https://www.beatlesbible.com/f…..5/#p194275

Well, it’s been over 80 hours since I posted on Maccaboard my first post, and they still haven’t published it. I emailed them 2 days ago about it. Do I have to wait until Boxing Day is over…

I’m happy to report that my woes at Maccaboard were USER ERROR. I hadn’t seen there was a second page to the “Little Lamb Dragonfly” thread that contained my comment, apparently all the while I was bitching about it.

I would be scared to visit website written somewhere random like that. I’d think they were trying to lure me there so they could steal my identities.
