Hi Billy. The site's been up and running since March 2008, but I've nevr really put in much work into promoting the forum. It's quite hard to get forums Off The Ground anyway, and I've been spending more time on getting the features and articles done instead.
Recently I added a link on every page to the most recent forum postings, which has meant more visitors registering to post. I'm confident that over time the traffic will grow – it's just a matter of waiting! But many thanks for dropping by and posting; it's the users of the site which will hopefully make this a really nice community.
But yes, three posts shouldn't have made you the top poster! That's a bit sad, isn't it?

I agree, I just started posting, and find I don't really have anyone to reply to my posts. -sings 'No Reply '- Haha, anyways.
The articles on the site are great, and I'm hoping that eventually others will discover the forum to keep it alive. I'll definitely hang around, there's so much information here that I just eat up. Thanks, Joe.

Hey Sun Queen – thanks for posting. Your contributions have been appreciated!
I'm glad you like the site, and please do take a good look around. I'm always adding new articles (see the Twitter update for the latest activity).
Here's the latest post, a feature on Rubber Soul : https://www.beatlesbible.com/a…..bber-soul/ – please add any comments you like to the article.

Ad hoc, ad loc, and quid pro quo! So little time! So much to know!
Oh wow, I really like that. You have been busy!
Do you have a larger version you could send me, to joe at beatlesbible.com? I'd like to use it as one of the banner pics.
In the past I've shied away from going overboard on publicising the site, mainly because it's not finished and I didn't want to become an irritant. I'd only like to do it if there was something really worth plugging (I know a few people who have started Facebook fan pages for their businesses, and it seems a bit forced and unnecessary).
Perhaps I should put together a few banners and buttons which people can use on their sites, though, if they want to. What do other people reckon? In honesty publicity isn't really my strong point – I'm more of a writer, and all I really think about is the next article

Sure I can do that. What size do you need? (Is it possible to go overboard on the internet?) If it makes you feel better, I honestly think the site looks professional.
Edit: I sent you a larger copy through my gmail account. Don't delete any emails from an “Elise”.

Hi BeatleMark. Thanks for joining the site (though I know you've been commenting on the song articles for some time)! It's great that this place is attracting some real fans of the Beatles.
Quick site update: traffic's steadily building on the forum, certainly compared to how things were a few months ago, and I'd imagine that after a while it'll pretty much take care of itself. A fortnight ago I was on page 10 of Google for the search term 'beatles', but now I'm around page seven and (hopefully) rising. The more people that come and visit, the busier the forum will be and we'll have plenty of conversations going on, making it a lively place to visit.
In the meantime it gives me a while to iron out some minor issues, and to keep adding content (which is how people will find the site). I've just about finished writing about key dates up to 1970, so I think in the new year I'll work on improving the image galleries and fill in the tour dates I've missed out – the Beatles Map is already looking nice and full, but it'll be great when it shows all the countries the band visited, such as the Philippines and Japan tours.
Suggestions for improvements are always welcome though. I have a to-do list as long as your arm, but I'm happy to add more! It's just a question of finding the time…

I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place, but hello everyone. I stumbled across the site earlier this morning while doing a Google search for Ringo's new album. What can I say but that I'm seriously impressed with everything I've seen so far, though I'm still working my way happily through the various sections. I think I can safely say this is a Beatles home on the internet that I've been waiting for since, well since I've had the internet! Congratulations Joe!
Hopefully the forum will become busier as time passes, but I have to say it's refreshing not to have to wade through endless threads about whether Ringo wore nicer socks than George to find something interesting!
Do I sound like a grumpy old fart now?

Welcome to the forum, Mark! I have to agree with you; there sure is a lot of Beatle nonsense out there, and I love that we all have opinions that differ, I'm hoping with more people it will even get more lively!
And on that note, reminded by Mark's post, thank you, Joe! You have an excellent site, I've had it bookmarked for at least 3 months now, and I've been visiting it and posting everyday. Keep up the awesome work, and I'll be sure to read all the articles! (The Manson one is quite well done!)
Tongue, lose thy light. Moon, take thy flight… see ya, George!
Hi SugarPlumFairy (and Alissa). Thanks for saying such nice things about my site! I'm taking a bit of a Christmas break from adding content, but I'm glad you've been able to find plenty to enjoy reading. The main part of the site is fairly well-ordered (song articles, albums etc), but the forum's a bit of a free-for-all, so there may well be future threads about The Beatles' socks – I'm happy with that, as long as people care enough to write about it!
Please do send any feedback my way, good or bad. Though if you could send me more time I'd be even more grateful. There's so much I'd love to do here, but real life gets in the way sometimes.

No you don't! I can see exactly where you're coming from. There are other sites I joined that were just nonsense so I no longer go there. On here you get some serious, knowlegeable and really interesting stuff (and that's just the Forum). Joe's site as a whole is unequalled….
So don't feel grumpy one little bit

This site was a case of “stumbled across it” for me, and I'm glad I did. I have about 20 favorite Beatle sites bookmarked, but this was the first one I've added to the lineup in a few years.
I'm still rather new to the site, and I've been jumping back and forth between the wonderful song analyses and the biographies of people I never knew much about. Well-researched, organized, and presented — and, say, this Joe can write!
It's fab, gear, and all the other pimply hyperbole.

Since the last post in this thread is dated 2009, I’m definitely late to the party. Nevertheless, I wanted to express my appreciation of the Beatles Bible site. I belong to a number of other forums, mostly guitar-related, but although music is discussed, threads pertaining to the Beatles are few and far between. Coming here, I’m amazed at the variety of topics there are that relate to our favourite band. I’m gradually working my way through the content on the site….Started with the Songs, which took about a week. I’m spending a lot of my time here on the forum now. One thing I’m noticing is that if I find a subject I’m interested in, and have something I’d like to contribute, it’s not uncommon that by the time I’ve worked my way through 40 or 50 pages, the original subject is long gone and the thread’s derailed into something far from the original subject. I don’t know how you can regulate that on a forum, but I notice that in the Songs section, periodically Joe’s gone into the comments that follows each song and pulled people back onto discussing the song. That’s much appreciated.
I read, early on, about low traffic on the site, and I recognize that’s something every discussion forum goes through. It would appear that’s not an issue anymore, as I can see there are people that have been around for years with post counts in the thousands. I find that encouraging, because it means that there’s enough action to keep people coming back and not getting bored. This also seems to be one of the friendliest places to visit which really encourages people to come back. I think, for me, there’s probably enough material here to last a lifetime. Thanks, Joe, for creating this site.

At lease we have this tool now
Knowing when to stop a conversation that is going askew can be straightforward sometimes, but not at other times. Joe and the mods have to walk a fine line sometimes. Some topics cross over into other topics and some people want the conversation moved, while others don’t. What’s a mod to do? Definitely can’t please everyone all the time.
I think we are doing better about staying on-topic now in the “meaty” hardcore-beatles-topics threads, but some of the “fluffy” threads may get a bit helter-skelter at times.
If you see a thread drifting too far from its purpose, you can mention it on the forum yourself, or feel free to send Joe or one of the mods a PM to express your concerns.
