The ads help pay the bills and keep the site up, @AppleScruffJunior. As Joe has said elsewhere, if he won the lottery tomorrow, the ads would be the first thing to go. As is though, cost of living etc., Joe’s had to up the ads to help meet the costs.

I don’t care about the ads elsewhere, it’s just the ones that are in people’s comments that could prove problematic.

Seeing this thread come up reminded me that I forgot to whitelist this site for ads, so I did, and I immediately got a pop-up for Asian dating [Image Can Not Be Found]
I understand pop-ups aren’t supposed to be usual, so I’ll just be watching for any more.

I guess I got that ad since I recently bought my mother-in-law a beautiful urn. She loved red birds. May her ashes rest in peace within it.

Offline The ads I don’t get getting, often from Amazon, are ads for something I’ve just bought using Amazon. Few weeks ago I bought a Ken Hom wok, and now I keep getting ads from Amazon for woks here now. I’ve already bought a very nice wok, thank you very much. I don’t need another. Maybe send me ads for other cookware I might need, but sorry got a wok sat on the cooker top with half a seafood stir fry I did earlier sat in it. No need to choose between the multiple ads you keep on sending my way. Bit late to advertise woks to me when I’ve just bought one from you.
This could have alse been posted in pet peeves, I now realise.

Ugh, ever since Joe’s alterations the other day, whenever I click “actions” intending to log in, I always get an ad at the very bottom of my phone’s screen entirely covering the “log in” area, so all I can click on is the advert. Luckily, there’s a solution I’ve discovered, though; it’s to hover over “actions”, then “open in new tab”, and the new tab will show the login option unobstructed.
