Personally I think it could lead to unintended ill-feelings with someone if a post was unthanked as it can be an uplifting sight to see someone has liked it. For the sake of the odd mistake I think the positive far outways the negative.

I think that being able to put thanks on a post an take it off will most likely be used a few seconds after the post like I edited this post almost as soon as I posted it since the original content of this message is irrelevant.
In the event that someone does make a mistake with thanks, the mistake would most likely be corrected as soon as the mistake is noticed so it shouldn’t do much harm since it doesn’t last long. People should be fine since people who really like it will keep their thanks on that post.
I think it wouldn’t be a bad thing for people to be able to change if they like a post or not.

Possibly but they may not realise until later or change their mind for whatever reason. I’d just rather peace was kept on the forum and if the price of that is an incorrectly thanked post then so be it.
Up the positives.
Of course this could be a completely pointless discussion if the ability to unthank the post is not even possible.

We could ask and see if it is possible.
@Joe is it possible for you to make it so users can unthank posts?

@Starr Shine? no, sorry. If it was an option it would be enabled, but it’s not something I can change.

I made an edit here to fix some spelling and a thanks disappeared. Are thanks tied to a specific edit of a post?
edit: it was a quote/edit mixup. I don’t do them often, but I managed to confuse myself.
I'm like Necko only I'm a bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin and also everyone. Or is everyone me? Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe. This has been true for 2016 & 2017 but I may have to get more specific in the future.

I’ve been PM’ing with SG about our draw-offs, but our replies don’t show up after a few posts. It’ll be fine the first 3 or 4 messages (it differs per thread), but then the next replies don’t go through and neither the sender nor the recipient can see the new replies. Very odd. It’s not just Chrome either; the same thing happens in FF and Safari.
And I still get those pesky ‘access denied’ messages on most threads’ most recent entries. The longer the topic, the more ghost pages get added, resulting in the ‘recently updated topics’ list to generate links that don’t exist (hence the access denied). I did the whole clean cache thing, but it doesn’t help. And it’s not just Chrome for me either; I get the same in FF and Safari.

That is a common PM glitch. Just start another PM thread and tell the other person to send a PM then you are good to go since PM threads if they get to long or if someone has sent to many one one side, the pm with then glitch and you can’t send anything in that PM thread.

When that happens look in the Url and go to the page nunber and subrtact a number like if you go to
https://www.beatlesbible.com/f…..m/page-72/
then just replace 72 with 71 and see if that works. If you go to a page that the thread hasn’t gotten to, then it will show access denied though really the page just doesn’t exist.

Sometimes below, sometimes to the right I think it goes below after a certain length of post.
Also, on the main forum page, it looks like the text on all the descriptions turned into one line.
Based on the length of your location, it pushes your mini profile more towards center.

I think @Joe has broken the forum again!!! I got a message a little earlier saying the forum was unavailable due to be updated to a new version (which was nicer than the usual “Crap!! Is it down? Is it just me?” etc.). I don’t think this is how Joe wants things looking. Don’t be surprised if it plays up a bit while Joe tries to work out how to get it looking right again. I can’t think these weird forum pages were what he expected from whatever the update was.
Here’s an example of the post below:
Edit: Who’d have thunk it? This whole post (for me, at least) is an example of the post appearing below!!!

Yes, very much so. It’s very difficult to read.
