I had just one technical question; but perhaps other people over time will have other types of technical questions, and they could deposit them here.
My technical question is: if I write a comment, then click “Submit Topic”, then when re-reading it, I realize I want to edit it, so I click Edit and start editing, but pause midway because the tea kettle is whistling and I have to walk across the house to turn off the stove, then out the kitchen window I see my neighbor, Agnes Humbersfield, fall off her ladder she was on trying to roust a bat with a broom from her rooftop, and so I go out to see she’s okay, and … long story short, I don’t get back to complete my comment edit for a total of, say, 45 minutes — does that mean that other BBers were unable to see any comment at all during that 45 minutes? Or was my first comment I published visible to others for 45 minutes, until I completed the edit and finalized that?
P.S.: Dear Agnes is doing just fine; just a couple of scrapes.

They would see the post un-editied. Edit’s are not real time on this forum so you have to submit an edit before it is live.

Darn it — that puts added pressure on me when I’m taking my sweet time editing a long post… Oh well, I guess it’s added incentive…

Thanks @Ahhh Girl, that is a fascinating thread. Parts of it made me laugh so hard that tears were rolling down my cheeks. I was wondering something else, does Joe still write articles, updates, etc… If so is there a thread that alerts the forum to new material?

He does, with quite a few having gone up in the last few weeks.
Of course, my search skills fail me as to the post where they were listed – I’m sure AG will link it soon 🙂
[EDIT] Only useful if you use Twitter, but anyway:

The last one Joe posted on the forum is here. Joe has said numerous times that he’d like to be able to spend more time on the forum, creating new articles for the site and a whole load of other stuff but has a young family plus there is his f/t job.

Now I can laugh at that Keystone Cops episode that happened in that thread. Then the thongs appear. That was so hilarious!

Hi. As MMM pointed out, I have a busy job and two young kids, so I don’t get to write much at all nowadays. Although I used to publish new stuff every day/week, I got a bit burnt out a couple of years ago and mostly stopped writing and researching new content, focusing instead on maintenance and fixing broken stuff. I am, however, starting to put together a bunch of new song and album articles to make some headway on the George and Paul solo sections.
I don’t have a place to highlight new content. A lot of it’s of minimal interest to people so I don’t always bother, eg last week I wrote about five Apple Jam tracks on All Things Must Pass. When I have a bulk of material I’ll be able to promote it as a body of work, but it’s not there yet.

Hi @Joe, I have 2 grown daughters but I surely remember life being a whirlwind as they were growing up. Believe me you have already done enough for the cause, I just want to make sure that I maintain my status as one of your loyal readers. Anyway thanks to our Mods and my fellow Fabs, I have a better idea now of how to follow along with your updates and such. Just an aside, I find the technical aspects of your site to be of top quality. I’m an SI by trade (now mostly moving databases from here to there as my career thankfully winds down), so I’m hyper aware of responsive web design (hello @Starr Shine?) and The Beatles Bible is a winner. Plus (best of all) the site contains many user-friendly features () .

I suspect that lot may be of more interest than you might think judging by recent discussions here about the album 🙂

Perhaps. I was going to start threads for the more important articles, which would be a way of flagging new content. Perhaps I’ll do it for everything, though I’m not sure there’d be much conversation on, say, It’s Johnny’s Birthday .
Someone submitted this comment on one of my song articles today (I didn’t publish it):
Good heavens this site is repetative and , frankly, boring. Same stuff you can find in many other places and nothing new or of note.
At least I can spell and punctuate correctly.

Not sure what the individual was expecting to find on a Beatles site – if the boring repetitive part is the Beatles.
As for the wealth of information it’s highly accurate, well laid out and highly informative in a number of areas. Pretty much what I want and expect from a Beatles website.
