Welcome Emily! Beatles are great, but unless you’re pretty sure you’ll be the next John, Paul, George or Ringo, don’t let those grades down!

In fact, use your Beatle knowledge to get better grades! (Learn the history of the Great Britain, Europe, America 1940-1970) through the Beatles.)

But Canada is part of America (North America to be specific of course)!

But yes, I should have put “etc …”   –    after all, isn’t there also Australia [any Australian members of the Forum?],  ETC…?

Hello everyone! My name is Dom, and I’m a huge Beatlemaniac. I was born in the late 90’s, and I believe I first properly discovered the Beatles in the summer of 2010. Since the days of me listening to Yellow Submarine and With A Little Help From My Friends via YouTube almost two years ago, the Beatles have genuinely changed my life and have inspired me to learn the guitar. They have opened my eyes to music as a whole, and I also enjoy their solo careers immensely. Although I only have hard copies of the Red & Blue albums, I have since bought plenty of other songs from iTunes that are absent on them, and one of my favourite books of all time is “Shout! The True Story of The Beatles” by Philip Norman. I couldn’t possibly choose who my favourite Beatle is, but I particularly idolise John and George, because of their notable “no nonsense” attitude. Like others, I sometimes wish I could have been born early enough to witness Beatlemania first-hand during the 60’s, and, after reading the aforementioned biography and seeing Nowhere Boy for example, I also think 50’s Liverpool, while they were growing up, is a fascinating chapter in their history. How did I get into the Beatles? Well, along with wanting to find out more about this mythical band that I kept hearing about, I also remember finding out that Ringo Starr , who narrated Thomas the Tank Engine during the 80’s, was their drummer. Thomas were a huge part of my formative years, and even now, unusual as it may sound makes me feel wonderfully nostalgic if I ever watch the classic series. So I guess a little blue steam engine was one of the ways I ended up discovering the Beatles!

My other interests include dinosaurs & palaeontology (huge fan of the Jurassic Park franchise), Doctor Who and good films/music. Thanks for reading!

Thank you for the welcome everybody!

Although my grades have gone down-hill, I do find myself telling my parents about things that happened in the 60’s, to The Beatles and stuff like that which shuts my dad up because he thought he knew everything about well, everything really, but especially 60’s-related happenings, which makes me happy! 🙂

I do not thInk that makes up for getting bad grades. In a couple years you will be getting a GED, all because of some band you might not even like in a year from now.

Why cant you enjoy the beatles whilst studying? No band is worth losing marks over. Unless your following the beatles own schooling habits which is not a good idea unless you are planning on being a musician.

Although I agree that that isn’t an excuse for my grades going down, I’m still pretty sure that i will like them next year. And thank god, I’ve got my school report now and they weren’t as bad as I was expecting, which is a good thing. 🙂

Actually I can’t do that. If I’m reading a text book or doing some homework and I listen to the Beatles, I just can’t focus. I find Pink Floyd a better music companion for that.

Hi everyone…
I’m Elise (FlyOn13, as you’ll see me on here), and I live in a New Jersey suburb outside of New York City in America, and I’m 13 years old. I know I’m young, but I love the Beatles so much I can’t stand it. It’s great to be able to chat with people who share my obsession. a-hard-days-night-george-10 everybody has been very nice so far, and have done a great job of welcoming me. I look forward to getting to know you all!!!

Welcome to the forum elise I’m also 13 (in fact I’m still 12, my birthday is tomorrow (i’m born on 25th July 1999). It’s always nice for me to find people in the forum who are as old as me because none of my non-online friends like the beatles as much as I do

Hey, guys! I’m Courtney–and, although “Dipsy” is my avatar name, it’s actually my real nickname. So call me whatever: technically, they’re both my real names haha. I’m 17 years old at the moment, but my 18th birthday is coming up in less than two weeks. I’m from Clarksville, Tennessee, and I am (obviously) a HUGE fan of The Beatles: this website is seriously like the best thing since sliced bread!

I’ll be going off to college in Nashville in a few weeks to major in Psychology and Sociology, so perhaps I didn’t exactly discover this site at the most convenient of times haha. I can totally see myself being distracted during class by forum curiosities…sounds like I’ll just need to exercise some self control, eh? I plan on working for the Peace Corps as soon as I’m finished with college; so when that time comes around, you guys may not hear from me for a couple of years. But…I will be back!

Everyone who knows me describes me as a “modern- day hippie”, and they couldn’t be more correct. I’m a pacifist, creative writer, photographer, and conceptual artist. I hope to one day also become a peace activist: well, I suppose I already am–in my own small way. People oftentimes tell me I was born in the wrong time period because of all of these reasons, not to mention the fact that my second love is Bob Dylan and indie music.

I think my love for John Lennon may be equivalent to Mith’s love for George Harrison , so be prepared for some girlish admiration. a-hard-days-night-george-10

I’m in constant thought, so my answers in the forum may be extraordinarily detailed and, at times, unconventional. So be prepared!

I have been a fan of The Beatles since I was fourteen years old. The first CD I ever purchased was a scratched copy of Please Please Me  from a Kentucky flea market for $2. And, much to my embarrassment, the only reason I purchased it was to play at a British-themed birthday party. I remember thinking that I needed British music, and The Beatles were British, right? I do, however, remember being fascinated by the CD cover for some reason: all the way home–about an hour drive–I was turning it over and over in my hands, fixated on the picture of these four suit-clad guys peering down from above. Why did the cover catch my interest so much? I’ll never know. Anyways, I got home and immediately started listening to it…and I hated it! It was just so old and so outdated. But I wound up playing it at the party anyway because, like I said, I needed some British music. When it came time to open gifts, my friend Mary gave me what looked like a wrapped CD. I opened it to find that it was 1. Man, did that CD change my life! Please Please Me  may not have left a very good impression on me, but was a different story. And my love only grew from there, eventually leading me to fall in love with Please Please Me  shortly afterward. Needless to say, I’ve never been the same since.

So after that mini-“how-Courtney-came-to-love-The-Beatles”-bio, there’s only one thing left for me to say: I’m really excited to finally be a part of The Beatles Bible, and I can’t wait to meet you all!

"I'm not going to change the way I look or the way I feel to conform to anything. I've always been a freak. So I've been a freak all my life and I have to live with that, you know? I'm just one of those people."
