I’m off work today so I’m tripping out on George! Thank you for the DVDs, @Expert Textpert!
Included a picture for you, @AppleScruffJunior
What era do you reckon it is? I’m torn between Dark Horse and self-titled album.

I think it may be from 1979 or 1980 as a photo from the same session was included on the front cover of the 1st edition of I Me Mine .

The photo of George is actually from 1974 as a contact sheet of the same photo session is included in the Living In The Material World book and it says the year they were taken.

I thought this would be a good place to post this.
As it was the twentieth anniversary of George’s passing yesterday I noticed that the Hare Krishna temple near to where I live which George had a close association with held a special tribute to him. He actually purchased the manor for them. Hopefully you can access this link. I might have gone along if I’d known about it.

Incidentally I was out walking this evening and saw in the distance across some fields a fairly big firework display. I got home and was reading lots of posts about George’s passing and it was then I realised the fireworks were in the direction of the temple. I don’t know if there was any connection with George but would it have been the 30th in the UK when George died?

Hard to believe it’s been 20 years since George has been gone. I distinctly remember where I was when I heard the news: at my grandmother’s house, sitting at the kitchen table, looking at the TV, tuned in to CBS News, and seeing that George had died. I certainly felt quite sad to realize that.
Last Christmas, we marked 40 years since John was taken from us, and the anniversary milestone of George’s death is no less sad. Indeed, a certain part of the world has been all the worse off for it.
I think a lot of us who are very concerned and put off by Eric Clapton’s statements and behavior of late, and how abhorrent it is, especially wish George were alive to gently chide his best friend and say that it would be best for him to go hand in cap and tone things down, basically saying like, “do you think John liked it when he had to apologize for the Jesus thing? No, but he knew he had to.”

so I’m taking music appreciation this semester and I’ve just submitted a discussion board post where I basically wrote a whole-ass cultural retrospective on “Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)” and in a previous discussion board post I analyzed the songwriting content of, and accidentally gave TMI on, “Your Love Is Forever”, and I’m probably gonna be remembered by all my classmates and teacher as that one person who dug George Harrison way too much and I’m very ok with that reputation
