Day 5: A question
Aliens have landed on earth and their goal is to find out information on George Harrison . What one Harrisong (solo or Beatles) would you show them that you believe encapsulates George?

I forgot to post a week ago, looks like Olivia is out of hospital and back at Friar Park. She posted a picture of the bushes covered in snow.

I always get nervous when I pick one song over another. It might be the influence of watching Disney films as a kid, where animals and inanimate objects have human thoughts and feelings. So with all due respect to Within You Without You , Run Of The Mill , and Give Me Love I’ll go with What Is Life ? George was forever searching and questioning, but always secure that his Lord was by his side.

Ooh, I definitely want to hear that hospital tape, especially the Lay Lady Lay and Mr. Tambourine Man covers On a sort of related note, I was wondering recently whether Bob’s Nashville era singing voice in any way influenced George’s (or was it vice versa? ).
Hey @SgtPeppersBulldog, I found a copy on a Russian Beatles fan site. Someone made a copy and uploaded it in a rar file to the cloud. It seems legit as some people thank him and comment, but of course that can be faked. Since I’ve retired all of my hardcore virus scan software subscriptions have ended, so I can’t check it. If it was the whole tape I would spend the cash to have it done, but it’s only 30 second samples of each song, so mostly a curiosity. This is the site if you want to poke around. The link to the rar file is in the post dated 09.01.21 21:48:05 by Xmastime. Again, Beware Of Darkness …

I feel that. I felt it strongly as a child, and never quite have shaken it. Somehow it doesn’t seem to enter my mind about songs, though, only material objects – almost as if songs are spirits that are on a higher plane above such concerns as what we think about them.

I agree, I usually only feel that phenomenon with songs when I’m creating a list and come to choosing #1. I must admit I felt a little twinge in my cerebral cortex when I read your choice (oh no, what have I done!)

This Song. I feel it encapsulates his ability to be very witty while settling a grudge

Interesting choices, I’d probably pick one of his boppy religious songs, maybe Awaiting On You All ? It has his spirituality, with his driving beats, good guitar and the tongue-in-cheek lyrics.
Naughty naughty no one did day 6, so it’s a bumper day.
Day 6 & 7:
George playing instruments, any instrument!!

Oh yes, I dream of rolling out thru the caves, ye long walks and cooles and shades.
Day #9 #9 #9: I heard this again yesterday and I love it
Gathering, gesturing, glimmering, glittering, happening, hovering, humoring (giggle), hammering, laquering, lecturing, laboring, lumbering (chuckle), mirroring…

This version brings a smile to my face. Years ago hearing this on super poor quality boot cassettes, I thought it was a spoof. Now I can just see him messing with his mates.
I was thinking of doing a Pisces deep dive this afternoon, but probably best to wait on the actual transit on the 19th. One trait Pisces are known for is friendship. I’m always taken with how natural George looks in pictures with other musicians.

Yes, even with Bob, who has a reputation of sometimes being difficult. George and Bob always seem to be getting on very well together in the pictures and videos I have seen.
Thank you for posting those great pictures, sb.

Day #10
I’ve had a copy of this picture displayed in nearly every place I’ve lived for the last 50 years.
A while back someone gave me a huge poster enclosed in a shiny black frame. I placed it on the mantle over the fireplace. Something that always bugged me over the years was the length of George’s tie. This distraction became exaggerated by the size of the picture and the prominent placement in my home. Finally, one late night I was up by myself listening to music in front of the fire and suddenly I couldn’t take it anymore. I took the frame apart, removed the glass, and utilizing a Sharpie I fixed it once and for all!
Kind of adds additional meaning to Long, Long, Long

Might as well finish off Georgemas Day #10 with some more Beatle people!
Ok, just a couple of questions:
1. I don’t recall ever seeing a picture of Mal looking this hunky. Compare his hair in this pic to his smiley. Maybe he really was the 5th Beatle.
2. This appears to be taken in the green room before a concert. Why is Brian looking so social?
3. Why is the woman sitting on the couch next to John paying no attention to him?
4. If this is prior to a concert in 1964, why aren’t John and George wearing matching suits. Also the back of George’s hair looks a bit long for the era.
