Day 24.1: I set out this morning in search of George Harrison .
The roadside was a blur as I drove along to the park.
I peered through the forest as I hiked
and tripped over a stone that blocked my way.
I sat on a bench for a little rest
and looked up to the sky and soon began to nap.
When I woke I found this handwritten note in my shirt pocket.
I drove back home satisfied that my search for George Harrison had been a success.

@sigh butterfly that’s beautiful
On day 24 you’ll find me where ye echo (of ATMP , LITMW, etc.) lays…
…for I’ll be sitting here all day, meditating to albums 1 through 5 of George’s post-Beatles output. Feel free to join me. It’s gonna be a good time
I made some updates to the Georgegarden as it’s been a couple years. I also used my regular avatar instead of my current one because it’s more distinct/recognizable as not part of the Georgegarden itself, and looks properly meditative.

Day 24.5
I didn’t know what to post for today so here’s a poem that I wrote earlier this year that’s kind of inspired by George and Patti and it’s kind of really bad but you know what here it is, do with it what you will, fiendish thingies:
Raven hair curls around pale ears
Caresses the nape of his neck
Falls just short of sloped shoulders
Wisps over sharp cheekbones
Dark eyebrows dominate his visage
Bring attention to clever eyes of bitter chocolate
Yet don’t overshadow his sweet sincerity
and eager soul
Coolly, he stands there
Hands in the pockets of leather pants
Leaning against the shadows
But never joining them
Begging to be mysterious
But he’s still just a teenager
Nighttime presses against him
And he pushes back
Not willing to succumb to its blindness
Smoke drifts from parted lips
It fills him now, and would choke him later
A golden girl made of dim stardust
Sits besides him
Running a warm hand through his raven-black hair
She is his candle
Her presence washes over him
And inspired by her,
Inspired by her beauty and starlight,
He devotes his words and soul to her eagerly
But they are still just teenagers
He serenades her lovingly
With a drawling voice that drip, drips
Like ink falling from pen to page
He hugs his guitar close to him
Gently running his fingers over its strings
Producing notes that purr and ease over her
And she is soaked in his affection
Her name decorates every verse
As he breathes her into the hollow night sky
Under the masked moon
And long, wispy lashes tickle her cheek
As she blinks the tears away
But she’s still just a teenager
Soon her stardust fades from him
And he is made a bit colder
Left emptier
His only light having flitted away
Across the black blanket of sky
To be the Layla of another boy
His music couldn’t keep her
But he still pours himself into it
Weeping and singing to a world of shadows
Trying to see,
Not wanting to be blind
His lungs full of smoke
As friends and lovers drift around
Like constellations
Across his nighttime sky
And as he revolves with the world
All candles melt away
And all love songs drift to an end
It’s kind of really emo, ngl, but then again my assignment was to convey love through the color black so like

Absolutely wonderful piece, lovelyritametermaid! Does Pattie still retweet stuff from The Beatles Bible because someone should send her that poem, I think she’d really appreciate it.
Also, HAPPY HARRIDAY (1/2), EVERYBODY!!!

Day 25.2
For George’s Birthday , I wore an outfit inspired overall by George’s garden: jean overalls, floral crop top, pastel eyeshadow, floral socks, and my Doc Martens. I’m also prominently wearing my George pin and my Rubber Soul pin on my overalls.
I also changed my phone background for Georgemas (finally):
In other news, I’m disappointed because I only had time to listen to All Things Must Pass yesterday, and didn’t make any further progress in my Harribinge. I was too busy working on schoolwork and studying and stuff at Panera. I could have listened to more tunes while I worked, but it would have distracted me too much

Thinking of George this morning and looking out the window at my garden (it’s cold). All Things on shuffle and first song to arrive is Art of Dying. I was rooting for Run Of The Mill , but the lyric expands my consciousness as George has been known to do quite often…
But if you want it
Then you must find it
But when you have it
There’ll be no need for it

I’m wearing a flowery green (gardenesque) jacket and I put a little Om symbol sticker on the lapel.
I’m a bit disappointed we had all the George and Pattie love and a Harrison family picspam but no George and Olivia spam. Ah well, I guess I’ll just be biding my time till September 2nd…

George song of the day:
In 2014, Olivia let a minute of this demo be played on BBC Radio. WE STILL HAVE NOT GOT THE ENTIRE THING- DAMN YOU HARRISON ESTATE!
So, here’s Fear of Flying , a cover of Charlie Dore’s song. It’s very pretty and I’d love it even more if we had the entire bloody thing.
Really makes me want another Early Takes but the likelihood of that happening this decade seems about as likely as me winning an Olivier this decade.

Here are a few pics of George and Olivia to enjoy on this beautiful day!
Pattie and Olivia
Olivia at George’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. I see Tom, Jeff, unknown, Paul, Joe Walsh (?), Olivia and Dhani. Anyone know who the unknown is (and where was Ringo)?
I bet parlance knows where his star is located.

^Dhani looks unbearably snazzy. Look at him go with those “I’m cooler than thou” shades and smile.
Anyway, I came here to say that you know you’re a hardcore Harrifan when you type “george garden quotes” into DuckDuckGo and expect it to know exactly which George you’re talking about. (I swear I totally just forgot to type Harrison )

But wait! There’s more!
British GQ released yet another article on my favorite Pisces today:
This article commemorates George’s beautiful hair
Ngl, Harrison definitely had the best hair out of the Beatles……it was just so great…all the time. (and don’t even get me started on his Elvis quiff that challenged God ‘s reach! If I could marry hair……)
