As busy travelling (and overstuffed ) as I was, I could not forget this day. I took some time to play my favorite Harrisong, one which seems to encapsulate his soul perhaps better than any other, Run Of The Mill ; I listened to Brainwashed on the road (which is one of the better ways to listen to it); and finally:
I’d like to remember him this way — in his garden, watching us all with a knowing, benevolent half-smile, a twinkle of mischief and mystery in his eye — and I don’t think he’d mind either.
No one around you
Will love you today and throw it all away
Tomorrow-
Love you forever George

This short video, showing George in the garden at Friar Park in 1999, and titled “Remembering George November 29, 2019”, was uploaded to his Vevo channel yesterday:

@All Things Must Pass did you mean to post the same link twice in different threads? (here and https://www.beatlesbible.com/f…..6/#p338586)

ARE WE NOT DOING FEBROOARY THIS YEAR IN HONOUR OF OUR DEAR GEORGE!?!?!?
I mean if anyone’s up for it, surely it won’t hurt to run over an extra 8/9 days into March…

I remembered on the 2nd but didn’t post and every evening I’ve been going ‘well I should start it’ but haven’t bothered.
So, I declare Febrooary officially open and over the next 24 hours I demand NINE new posts, preferably by different users showcasing anything George (videos, pictures, anecdotes, quotes etc.), bonus points if you use a more ‘obscure’ photo or video.
This is an open invitation to everyone, would love to see people who rarely post here showcasing their George love even if you don’t know his solo catalogue well, his Beatles songs are more than welcome.

I mean I already changed my avatar for such an occasion and I have a line-up of George memes to share at some point, but I’m waiting for the right moment…..I might share one a day who knows?
I am very much excited for Febrooary…..Though I have yet to make a schedule for my month-long Harrison music marathon…….

The George-spam begins:
This is one of my favorite George songs. I just recently heard it over Christmas when I was listening to the entirety of All Things Must Pass for the first time (I only wish that I had sooner, it remains one of my favorite albums of all time) and it just immediately struck me Out Of The Blue . I had to sit down and really listen to the song while getting the chills. One of the best things about George’s music in my opinion is how he can pack so much emotion into a song and make it mean something different to everyone who hears it. Most of his religious songs could also be love songs, depending on who you ask. His music is truly universal.
Now, for my old profile teacup picture:
Also, it wouldn’t be February without at least one picture of George’s garden:
That’s the post.
Have a great day everyone! ~”Love one another.”~

I found out not too long ago on Wikipedia that Ringo meeting Peter Drake during the sessions for Behind That Locked Door and seeing all the country records in Ringo’s car is what caused them to go record Beacoups of Blues, so I guess we have George to partially thank for the creation of that album.

Moment #6
George and his cars (photos where it’s just the car are his own personal car, not just a photo of the type):
Porsche 928 (Sold for £37,500 at auction in 2017)
Jaguar E-Type
The iconic Mini
Mercedes 600
Ferrari 365 GTC
Mercedes 500 SEL (went up for auction last year can’t find whether it sold or not though, one of his ‘family cars’, he kept it for 16 years, very unusually because he liked to get new toys every 3 or 4 years.)
v=E8ltEPGhCgo&feature=emb_title
(Going to rehearsals for the Japanese tour)
After the Mini this has to be his most iconic one because anytime I think ‘Anthology’, I think George’s pimped-out McLaren
McLaren F1

YESSS GEORGEMAS I remembered while I was in Florida (George and mooching around Disney’s Polynesian resort go very nicely together — Hawaii and gardens, you know), but I was too busy to do anything about it at the time so I’ll just chip in now by saying that I listened to some Harrisongs (Blow Away, This Is Love, some stuff from Brainwashed) for the first time in ages (as prompted by the aforementioned tropics) and was once again struck by what a talented man amd a beautiful soul he was. It was a good reminder. Uplifting. He has that effect.

My heart was instantly lifted today when my guitar teacher told me that his favorite Beatle is George. He started off by saying: “Now don’t get upset with me, Beatlegirl [what he calls me sometimes], but Harrison is definitely my favorite Beatle hands-down, no contest.” I replied by saying that I wasn’t offended at all because I absolutely adore George. Then I proceeded to have a full-length discussion with my guitar teacher and some random guy whose lessons just ended all about George and how great he is and his solo career and his personal life and all that. The George convo really made my whole day.
Anyhoo….here’s some George pics I had on my phone and love:
George and Eric Idle sipping tea:
George being sultry af:
An adorable photo of George visiting Ringo at the hospital (it’s so god darn cute I can’t stand it):
