Well, it was by the Everly Brothers originally if I recall, but George made it about Pattie via some editorial input. So, yes.

I see. At first I was like “well considering the time period and the lyrics this could be about Pattie” but then the line about ‘old Clapper’ came along and I knew it had to be.

I thought that was just a load of bull ^, George had put down E&P on the song credits but they didn’t actually do anything. It’s probably just a nudge-nudge, wink wink in case you’re not tuned into their marital struggles.
Anyhoo, it’s spelt ‘Patti’ on the album credit, and it irritates the hell out of me.

“….I see the great musical adventure of our time as the emergence of a world-music culture, which crosses lines of geography, race and gender. From this perspective, the impact of George Harrison ‘s life and times has been enormous. He played a major role in bringing several generations of young musicians out of the parched and dying desert of Eurocentric music into a new world. I have no doubt that this part of his legacy will be his most enduring. And not only that. He opened the doors to this new world of music with deep conviction, great energy and his own remarkable clarity and simplicity.”
And then, of course, there was the Beatles.

Nah, can’t choose. They’re both perfect in different ways. His speaking voice is precious because of his Liverpudlian soup of an accent, whilst his singing voice is pure shimmering soul hammered out into notes.

His singing voice touches my heart, his speaking voice as a mature person, is like a therapy, low and slow..i could listen to him talking endlessly..

I discovered this song yesterday:Such skill…
Ah yes.. horse on the water,is one of my favourites..
Recorded on 2 October 2001, the song is George’s last performance on a record George only performed vocals on the track, as he was too weak from battling cancer to play guitar Dhani did. He died just over eight weeks later on 29 November. He listed the song’s publisher as “R.IP.Music Ltd” instead of his usual music company Harrisong which Jool Holland said showed “Harrison’s dark sense of humour.”
