So it looks like The Traveling Wilbury’s catalogue is being reissued. I bloody love that band, I think their 1st album is a real masterpiece, the perfect example of a good pop and rock album.
I remember how bloody long, I scoured for The Traveling Wilbury’s Collection, CDs & DVD. I think it took me about 2 years. I found Volume 3 quite a lot but rarely 1 and never the Collection. I finally found it in a massive music shop in Frankfurt of all places.
So Fiendish Thingies, what is your favourite Wilbury track? My one (surprisingly isn’t a George track) but rather a Lefty Wilbury track:
(Although I do have a great love for ‘Maxine’, I still think the lyric ‘was a photo of a woman on a llama’ is genius! )

Don’t see the point of reissuing the catalogue, the Traveling Wilbury’s material was release was only a few years ago and there wont be a lot in the vault to get excited over.
Never cared for volume 3. Favourite has to be ‘End Of The Line’ but ‘Not Alone Anymore’ is class as well. Classic Orbison.

Volume 3 is very listen-to-it-once and nothing really sticks in your head. It doesn’t get a lot of play in my house, whereas I go back to V1 at least once a month.
I love Roy Orbison, he seemed like a really, nice guy (that Southern accent didn’t do any damage either though).
That and he had an amazing voice, even Elvis called him “the greatest singer in the world”.
Poor Roy I don’t think he gets the accolade that he deserves, whenever you mention the best voice ever, countless others get mentioned before Roy. When he really had a voice that would knock you off your seat.

Volume 3 has the feel of an album that’s been recorded for the sake of recording an album, and going by what I’ve read that’s what it was – in this case the record company wanting a follow up. It’s a very good band going thru the motions.

They have both Traveling Wilbury albums at the library by my house, so I borrowed them from my library and downloaded them onto my computer. Since I have digital copies of them, I don’t think I’ll be buying the remastered albums, but maybe I’ll ask for them for Christmas or something.
Volume 1 is very good. My favorite song is probably Tweeter and the Monkey Man or End of the Line. I agree that Volume 3 isn’t very exciting; the only song on it I especially care for is Nobody’s Child.

Can’t wait, that sounds wizard!
Also… when you brainwashed your bandmates with Harrisongs and are trying to convince them to play What Is Life and so you end up spending the entire morning playing What Is Life on repeat, saying that you need practise, even though it’s not that hard to play the rhythm guitar part… but it’s a great excuse to play What Is Life on repeat!
I What Is Life , it’s in my top five ever

About a year ago… I think it really got underway shortly after his birthday, but it began even earlier.

It’s like chocolate. You take one bite, you like it, you take another that’s fine too.
And…then…a few days later you want more chocolate and more!!!!
And then by the end of a month or so you want chocolate everyday.

*GASP* Heavens, no! What a ghastly thought!

Ah no that’s unwise.
I think listening to a George Harrison song expands your life by 0.0005 of a second (the magic of Harrison).
So if you want to die earlier than normal, don’t listen to George Harrison .

Probably because he always makes me grin enormously and it’s been proven that smiling is good for your health. Scientific fact.
All things George make me grin (except the sad stories, which I tend to stay away from), so he’s extremely good for my health indeed.

There is flaws in your logic, if you want to be long lived, then the best choice would be Yoko since she is still trucking into her 80s

Ah but did Yoko ever say she didn’t listen to George? 😉
(For long lived you can also ask my granddad, he turned 82 at the beginning of the month and he’s still ticking happily on. He was working in the bog last week.)

This George thing is catching, I spent yesterday afternoon listening to an entire playlist of George cuts and albums. It’s almost too easy to do! But re: Travelling Wilburys, the highlight for me of Handle Me With Care is definitely Roy Orbison lifting it out of the atmosphere and into orbit. Gives me a chill every time.

^ George was a class artist, his music for the vast part of it is perfect background music, rock-out music and everything in between. It’s a pity John and Paul overshadow him in that respect.
