A question for the Administrators:Does one need to formerly apply for membership in Til:TGHCfFT or is just posting enough and what, pray tell, is a “fiendish thingy”. I’m not sure that I qualify.
I came up with the club- although egroeg bet me to making the page 😛 and fabfouremily, the other original Fiendish Thingy, appears sporadically so I might as well add my 2 cents.
1. You don’t need to formerly apply, posting news, pictures, updates, comments whatever is good enough for us.
2.’Fiendish Thingy’ comes from George’s line in Help ! “It’s a thingy, a fiendish thingy, run Ringo!”. I just liked the sound of it but thinking about it now it could refer to mental fans i.e. get away from them as fast as you can Ringo! Pity it’s actually about a pool of vomit that had matchsticks put into it but anyways…
In this club’s context, it’s a person who really, really likes George. He doesn’t have to be your favourite Beatle but it sure helps!
Welcome to the Harrifam 😀

I’ve no idea where to put this interview so ’tis going here.
The interviewer is a bit annoying but Jeff and Dhani handle it gracefully, and although most of this is familiar to me there is one particular anecdote which I’d not heard and found amusing.
Ironic how as Jeff talks of George’s wonderful lyrics and messages they play the Beatles’ cover of Roll Over Beethoven .
EDIT: and here is part 2 :

Surprise: Dhani has changed his hair yet again. It’s now short and blue (so there’s another colour to add to the list after purple and green). It’s funny that’s he going back to dying his hair after he hasn’t done so for years!!
Photo courtesy of the wonderful Fatima, who is the L.A. newno2-stalker equivalent of me.
And let’s add my favourite track from thenewno2’s Beautiful Creatures score
^ That video was also filmed at Abbey Road so if you don’t want to watch it for the band (which you should- that tune makes me want to go to a hoedown) at least watch it for the semi-tour (and how happy Aaron is to be wearing that vest frottoir 😀 ).

^ He really should have one, with the amount of stuff I do updates on but I think I’ve posted too much about him in this thread for the mods to have to move everything over to a Dhani-only thread.
That and Dhani isn’t very important in the whole scheme of things, I think the only people who I post Dhani updates are for myself and about 2 other people. I don’t think anyone else cares (feel free to prove me wrong kids).

There are some threads with less content that are less relevant so I say Go and make one.

Fine I will but if there isn’t any conversation or yipyap going on I might move it back to the Fiendish Thingies thread and get the mods to delete it. There’s no point having a thread where only the same person posts in again and again.
Should I post it in the George forum or the Everything Beatles forum?

The George forum.
And I’ll try to help you out so it won’t get too monotonous, though of course you’ll be the threadmaster.

Beatlebug, sigh butterflyI'm like Necko only I'm a bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin and also everyone. Or is everyone me? Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe. This has been true for 2016 & 2017 but I may have to get more specific in the future.

Awesome @ewe2! Wishing you and Sally all the best for your life together.
I recommend Devil And The Deep Blue Sea, which was the first one I learned; the verses are easy but the key change in the middle eight will give you a bit of a stretch.
Rising Sun is also fun, and not as tricky as it sounds. Any Road is grand as well. Don’t try to learn Breathe (Pink Floyd).
Course I’ve only been playing for about a fortnight, and not even on a proper ukulele at that, so who am I to presume to advise you
Either way, have fun. It won’t take you long to find your way round that little thing, I’m sure. It’s like playing incomplete guitar chords in a different key.

Thanks for the suggestions! I eventually want to do Give Me Love, that will sound pretty on a uke. Devil And The Deep Blue Sea is quite subtle, too but I see from a youtube it has the dreaded E chord!
For now I will learn my chords and do simple things like Ain’t Gonna Give Nobody None Of My Jelly Roll 😀

So I’ve gone and done it and by next week I will be the proud owner of a ukulele called “Sally”. Might have to start on the easy George songs though. I thought it best to start uke’ing with a 2nd hand one that’s clearly been loved
@ewe2 having spent a large part of my life living in Hawaii, I’m especially happy to meet Sally. I think learning to play her will be great fun.

E is dreaded? I thought it was simple– but that’s big tough guitar player me. I ran across this whilst searching a chord for Give Me Love: https://ukuguides.com/how-to/h…..c-e-chord/
It says that that shape I’d been using was ‘very difficult to play’ unless you had guitar background. Well, I do, and I didn’t find it difficult at all– that was small stuff compared to a barred B on an acoustic.
They did have this other shape which, when I played it, seemed an impossible feat of contortion and an absurd expenditure of unnecessary energy compared with that other nice sensible E. But that’s just me… perhaps you’ll find it easier.

I think that’s a good idea @Beatlebug, I’ll participate :). JPM-Fangirl (or was it Ahhh Girl) mentioned that Paul plays ukulele in concert, so there is that Beatley angle as well

Keeping with the ‘George’ ‘uke’ theme, a good name for a ukulele would be Keoki, the Hawaiian version of George (Dhani also has a tattoo of it on his arm).
