Very nice tune, that.
Aye t’is, could listen to it over and over again so I could.
It’d be great exposure for pHd and thenewno2 even if they were just nominated- so I hope they get it.

CBC Music article with 10 facts about George. At some point George was the famous artist in their ‘Background Check’ game where you have to separate the facts from the fiction.

Paul tells a story about George’s dad:
The anecdote sounds very like the time Dhani got in a bit of trouble with the police, and George came round and told the police to ‘f*** off’.

^ I love that story, all hail Harry!
More George & Dhani news:
Bicycle Music signed a deal with the Harrison family (including both George’s and Dhani’s work) for publishing rights of their music, which includes George’s Harrisongs, some Ravi Shankar songs and The Dark Horse label’s artists.

There’s a lot of argument in the comments of this video whether or not it’s actually George. As he never shows his face a lot of people think it’s an impostor, but that’s certainly his voice at the end… ‘Hehe, didn’t know I could whistle’

That’s what one of the comments said. I’m more inclined to believe that one than the others.

Doesn’t even sound like George at the end to me. Actually I suppose it could be, just sounds a bit thin and squeaky but if its late 90’/early 00’s it could be the cancer treatment.
And as if ever you need a reason to post Beatles clips. George looking puzzled whilst whistling at the end of ‘You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away ‘.

It was George or it was the cancer treatment?

Both.
What I meant was, it was late 90’s/early 00’s.

Considering what happened last time someone broke in you won’t get over the second blade of grass without something happening to you. And rightly so.
Moving away from that, Concord Music, who publish Paul’s solo catalogue, have signed a deal to do the same with George’s, including his Beatles songs (tho not sure if that covers all as his early ones were originally thru Northern Songs) and The Travelling Wilburys, and some of Dhani’s .
Hopefully this leads to the vaults being opened again but more frequently than Paul’s.

I sorta went on a George Harrison buying spree a couple weeks ago. I now have All Things Must Pass , Living In The Material World , 33 and 1/3, and Cloud 9. So because George is awesome and I wanna talk about him and his music all the time, I guess I’m gonna give you all my verdict on each album.
All Things Must Pass is easily the best of any solo Beatles album, though John Lennon /Plastic Ono Band is a strong competitor. I think almost every song is great, and Spector’s production actually works quite well here, though I’m glad it was dropped for later albums.
Best Song- Isn’t It A Pity
2nd Best Song- Hear Me Lord
Worst Song- I Dig Love
Overall Rating- 97/100
Living In The Material World is not as good as its predecessor- shocker. However, it does benefit greatly from the scaled down production, and most of the songs are as good as the ones on All Things Must Pass . That said, there are 2 or 3 tracks that come off as a bit preachy.
Best Song- The Light That Has Lighted The World
2nd Best Song- Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)
Worst Song- The Lord Loves The One (Who Loves The Lord)
Overall Rating- 89/100
33 and 1/3 is nothing mind-blowing, but a pretty solid record overall. The guitar playing is awesome (duh), and Billy Preston is always welcome on any Harrison album. Production is good too, and I like the cover.
Best Song- Crackerbox Pallace
2nd Best Song- Beautiful Girl
Worst Song- Pure Smokey
Overall Rating- 72/100
Cloud 9 is a delicious piece of 80’s pop. Just look at how 1987 that cover is!The songs on this album are great, and fortunately don’t suffer too much from the general 80’s-ness. Jeff Lynne is great as a producer, and the album has some of George’s very best guitar playing.
Best Song- Devil’s Radio
2nd Best Song- When We Was Fab
Worst Song- Wreck Of The Hesperus
Overall Rating- 86/100
So yeah, George’s solo career is pretty great! I still haven’t listened to all of it, but I think I will get Dark Horse next. Oh and if you actually took the time to read all of this, bless you! Sorry it was so long!

So happy to see you here, @limitlessundyinglove! I wish I could go on a George Harrison buying spree Even though I don’t fully agree with everything you said, I agree with most of it (also don’t like The Lord Loves The One, Crackerbox and Beautiful Girl are wonderful, could do without the production on that album though), I is always happy to see another Harrifan… anytime, anywhere…
