^He has got at least 3 dogs, Edison and Woody Guthrie* (who are the mini huskies) and an unknown dog. I don’t know if Fausto is his or not but it’s one gorgeous dog.
*His favourite is Woody because, “Woody doesn’t eat my shoes, just sayin’ “, Woody’s guitar is probably too busy killing fascists so he has no time to eat Dhani’s shoes!

I also have to add that I’m loving the response ‘Your Love Is Forever’ is getting on this forum- it is definitely one of my favourite George songs (if not my very favourite), It’s so beautiful, particularly the opening 30 seconds or so, it reminds me of a day-dream atmosphere, it’s just whimsical.
Oh and I bagsy it if I ever make a romantic-film.

The whole ‘George Harrison ‘ album is fantastic. You need to let it age with a few listens but its one of my favourite solo Beatles albums. George sounds in a very happy, content stage of his life resulting in him clearly enjoying the music he was making.
After this we got the very muddled ‘Somewhere In England ‘ (no thanks to a record company not having a clue) before George decided to everyone on the planet and gave us the just as brilliant if not better ‘Gone Troppo ‘.
Seriously folk, put down ‘All Things Must’, ‘Cloud Nine ‘ and ‘Brainwashed‘ and listen to these two lesser known delights.

I agree, I amn’t a massive fan ‘Somewhere In England ‘ (although I do have a great liking of ‘Blood From A Clone‘) but ‘Gone Troppo ‘ and ‘George Harrison ‘ are great albums (the latter being extremely underrated, it’s a great atmospheric album).
While All Things Must Pass , Cloud Nine and Brainwashed are amazing and deserve all the acclamation they get, I do have a great fondness for George’s eponymous album and I listen to it more than any other solo release I think (especially ‘Soft-Hearted Hana‘-there’s an underrated song about the use of magic mushrooms, and I really like ‘Faster‘ as well)
George is still underrated and he probably will be forever.
I think if anything (from my point of view as a teenager) he is the “least famous/remembered” of all of The Beatles among the youth of today, when my Irish teacher asked me in class who my favourite singer was and I said George Harrison *, everybody just went “who?”** Whereas if I’d said John Lennon everyone would have known he was “that hippie guy in The Beatles” (a lot of other teens who I’ve met don’t even know how he died or that he’s even dead-maybe it’s just Irish teenagers lack of 20th century pop-culture knowledge).
Paul is keeping relevant with his Kanye West/Rihanna collaborations and Ringo has a unique and funny name that sticks in your head, so apparently poor George has nothing very striking about him (of course I’d beg to differ!)
*I always get funny looks whenever I say George is my favourite (I got asked “what did he even do outside of playing guitar in The Beatles?” Oh don’t get me started, honey!
**Granted the majority of this class didn’t know ‘Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds ‘ either so

I think George would be far happier living quietly in his fans hearts, minds and lives than be known by the large majority as Beatle George. He spent almost 30 years trying to get away from that.
“Didn’t want to be a star, wanted just to play guitar.”
Paul always wants to be relevant and makes it known and Ringo is the same as he’s always been.
‘Soft-Hearted Hana’ is a masterclass.

I came to this thread to rave about express my love for that very song.
The opening lines are just poetry:
Sublime is the summertime, warm and lazy
These are perfect days like Heaven’s about us;
But unlike summer, came and went
Your love is forever…
Actually does remind me of one or two of Shakespeare’s Sonnets, though I can’t quite think of which ones. And since it’s so beautiful, I don’t even mind George’s wacky mixing of tenses.

I agree– I gave it a first listen yesterday and I liked it right off. My favourites so far are ‘Soft-Hearted Hana’, ‘Dark Sweet Lady’, ‘Your Love Is Forever’, not to mention ‘Blow Away’– I believe I’ve established how I love that song? 🙂 It’s my Eight Days A Week for George– it makes me do this:
And speaking of ‘Your Love Is Forever’ and ‘Blow Away’, don’t you think the guitar solos sound very much alike? Same key and everything.
I also detect a little of the ‘Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)’ slide guitar in the ‘Your Love Is Forever’ solo, at the beginning. Hmm… seeing any patterns here?… 😉
None of this is a criticism, mind you; though the haters might accuse George of lacking imagination, I love them all the more for seeing their similarities.

True. One of the things I admire most about him is that he made music for himself and not the charts. That is why his music, way more then the other three, is so soulful. I laugh at critics who say his music was “preachy”. He did not preach, he sang from the heart about his own experiences/thoughts/ideas – for the most part, he sang to himself. Those who thought they were being preached to most likely heard things about their own selves in George’s songs and did not like what they heard. Isn’t It A Pity ?

Exactly, just look at the ‘Blood From A Clone’ lyrics:
They say they like it but now in the market
It may not go well as it’s too laid back
You need some oomph, papa, nothing like Frank Zappa
And not new wave, they don’t play that crap
Try beating your head on a brick wall
Hard like a stone
Don’t have time for the music
They want the blood from a clone
I hear a clock ticking, I feel the nitpicking
I almost quit kicking at the wall
There seems a confusion under the illusion
That they know just what will suit you all
Beating my head on a brick wall
Hard like a stone
Ain’t got time for the music
They want the blood from a clone
There is no sense to it, pure pounds and pence to it
They’re so intense too, makes me amazed
Don’t want no music but they’re making you sick with
Some awful noises that may get played

^ Just what I was saying over in the b-day thread!
That photo frightens me though. In it, he looks more like George Harrison than George does.

We got a new Paul Hicks & Dhani song (woohoo), another soundtrack piece from the film ‘Learning to Drive’ which will be released August 21st (I was looking at it last year, but I thought it only had a festival release/small indie release) so I’m happy that at least we get something new from pHd (apparently they’re not allowed to use that anymore but I don’t care!).

I found three songs from the soundtrack for anyone who wants to hear, it’s way different than The Beautiful Creatures ST but I like it.

Tho anyone care to explain what he’s doing here
I have been thinking about it for 2 hours and nope I can’t come up with anything!
Some more Dhani things that have cropped up over the past few days (my, my he has been (reasonably) active in the public eye!):
Here he is along with Sola at the premiere of a new Amazon show “Hand of God “- Holly Marilyn, who some of you might know as the background singer on ‘Station‘ from the FOMO album, she sings the credits’ song so I imagine that’s why D&S are there.
And some photos:
Dhani, along with Mark Hudson playing with The Oculus Rift gaming device (the future is here people!)
And Dhani’s doggy-wogs get a close-up
^ Edison Guthrie on the left and Woody on the right.
And bonus pic: Edison as a puppy (aww)
