Awh, how did I go the whole school day without realizing it’s George’s birthday? Now I don’t feel as hardcore of a Beatles fan.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANYWAYS, GEORGIE BOY!!!!

Happy Birthday George, I had to wait for a whole day so that I could greet him in his time zone. A fan just released a fan site for him.

Hi everyone!
For George’s 70th birthday I put together a Web site that lists all of George’s music, including songs he wrote and played on for other musicians. The site has been around since Feb. 24, but I haven’t really told many people about it until now. Check it out, and let me know what you think. Thanks!

Decided to go take a look and I’d recommend it’s worth a look for all you fans of George on here.
Overall I was pretty impressed. A good resource for tracking George as a songwriter, and bound to improve as it’s added to. I don’t know whether you’re going for the official songwriting credits, but if you are then your entries on The Traveling Wilburys songs is disappointing since the official credit is not the individual members of the band at the time of each album, but the all-encompassing “The Traveling Wilburys”. A bit like we Beatles fans know that the “Lennon/McCartney” songwriting credit did not indicate the individual contributions to a song, if any, just an agreed formula, “The Traveling Wilburys” was used by Harrison, Dylan, Petty, Lynne (and Orbison) in the same way.
That would be my main niggle, and it’s really just nit-picking. I look forward to seeing how it grows.

Took a look at it (if I’m honest, it was because mja said that it would appeal to young George fans – me being one of them). It looks very good, and suprisingly professional. I will check back from time to time

Very nice site. You put a lot of work and effort into this and made it very complete.
I would suggest also to add those songs that he sings lead in especially with the Beatles. This would include a lot of covers he sang along with the one’s that Lennon/McCartney wrote for him to sing. Just a thought.

Very ambitious and attractive-looking site you’ve got there! I think you’re missing a couple of things, though; like Ringo’s “It Don’t Come Easy” and his contributions to the Ringo album. (Unless they’re there and I missed them.)

If you do end up doing this, you should probably add everything else he ever played on, like that Splinter album.

Thanks for all the suggestions and compliments, everyone! I considered many of the things so far mentioned when I was creating the site. I decided not to add the Beatles songs that George only sang lead on because I wanted the site to be about George and his music rather than another Beatles site. Also, as vonbontee pointed out, I would then feel compelled to add every song that George appeared on in any fashion. George pops up all over the place, and sometimes it’s hard to verify if he was actually on some recordings or not! I do have it in my mind to someday have a separate section for all of George’s session work. There are also some songs George wrote that were released but he didn’t actually work on them. For example, “I’ll Still Love You” by Ringo and the two songs from the Water soundtrack. It can get a little tricky, but that’s the fun of it!
@vonbontee – “It Don’t Come Easy” is in the Pre All Things Must Pass section, and the Ringo album tracks are in the Pre Dark Horse section. Everything is in order by date recorded, so maybe you were looking for date released? Thanks for double checking my accuracy!

Happy birthday, George, fellow Piscean!
Seems right to wish him a happy birthday now, because I always get confused which day is the one George actually celebrated.
