None of the remastered CDs showed up in any of my local record/cd stores – which is very sad.

Wasn’t aware that there were any more “record/cd stores” left on this planet…:-)

Ha ha – it seems that way sometimes but there are still a lot to be found if you know where to look – the trouble is their stocks are usually not very comprehensive these days.  We have two in our local mall and there are at least 4 in the city, including a nice ‘alternative’ store and a decent 2nd-hand place.  But none of them have the newly-released George CDs – sigh.

Well, you do live in the best city in the world according to that study.

Indeed – quality of record stores must have had a low weighting :)

In Glasgow’s City Centre you have Zavvi (or whatever its now called) and Fopp (which i believe is an off-shoot of Zavvi since it sells the exact same stuff at the exact same prices but with a different price sticker) where you can get the latest releases. Additionally there is Avalanche which is an independent record store which sells new & used CD’s and vinyl and a small number of bootlegs, and Missing for your second-hand vinyl, cd’s & dvd needs. And yet its practically impossible to get a Ringo record in any of them.a-hard-days-night-ringo-6

I checked out one of those when I was on holiday there in 2007 – can’t recall which one it was exactly; there were also a couple of decent shops in Edinburgh when we went there for the day.

From All Access Music Group:

Released on CD and digitally in SEPTEMBER, the new GEORGE HARRISON collection, “The APPLE Years 1968-75,” will make its global high definition digital audio debut NOVEMBER 24th.  The collection features HARRISON’s first six solo studio albums, “Wonderwall Music ,” “Electronic Sound ,” “All Things Must Pass ,” “Living In The Material World ,” “Dark Horse ” and “Extra Texture (Read All About It),” originally released between 1968 and 1975 on THE BEATLES’ APPLE RECORDS label.

Mastered in hi-res 96kHz/24bit digital resolution for the first time from the original master tapes, “The APPLE Years 1968-75” will be available for purchase from all major HD digital audio providers on NOVEMBER 24th.

In an initiative overseen by GEORGE’s son, DHANI HARRISON, the “APPLE Years” collection’s six albums have been expanded with previously unreleased or rare additional tracks, while “All Things Must Pass ” includes five bonus tracks which were first released in 2001.
