This song makes me so nostalgic. It’s very summery.
Much of the song’s appeal for me is nostalgic too. When the single was released I was 11 years old and obsessed with the radio and the local singles charts. And I was riding in the car with my dad when it came on the radio, and I was able to identify it as “‘Blow Away’, by a guy named George Harrison …” And dad seemed surprised and knowledgeable at the mention of the name; and when I asked him who he was, he answered “He was one of the Beatles!” And so that’s the story of how I learned my second Beatle name! (I owned several Paul/Wings singles already so I certainly knew him)

That’s awesome
I’d heard some solo George songs already when I first heard Blow Away, but my Beatles-only music philosophy did not include solo Beatles at that point in time, so I was not interested. But i heard Blow Away on the Beatles Channel and my dad wouldn’t let me change it, so i listened to it and had it in my head for the rest of the afternoon and by the end of the day I was in love with it. So. Yeah.

Whoah come on guys this video is AWESOME!!! A giant duck, George’s horrible hair and his awful outfit is the BEST THING EVER!!
Just kidding. I remember watching this video as a kid and loving it just because it was George. As someone in this thread said, he was just having fun with his videos

As I mentioned in my previous recent post, it’s a great song, but I’ve always been stuck on the lyrics.
Is the last line in the chorus:
All it’s got to take is a moment to make it blow away…
or:
All it’s got to take is a warm wind to make it blow away…
or, something else?
It’s been bugging me for a long time.
Turn off your stream, relax and float down mind

Anybody think the wistful air of looking back is enhanced by George mimicking The Shadows famous (sort of) dance step from the late 50’s/early 60’s yet? The same man who wrote ‘Cry for a Shadow’ surely putting in a sly reference to one of his heroes Hank Marvin? Else it’s potentially Chuck Berry’s duck walk and the duck is a big clue to nother influence.
