Thanks for posting! I just fall more in love with All Things Must Pass each time I hear a new version.
I think it's great you're going through a phase,
and I'm awfully glad it'll all be over in a couple

Completely agree about ATMP , this version is a great bridge between the february '69 demo on Anthology 3 and the officially released version on ATMP . Every time you hear a new version you wish that John & Paul had shown less contempt during the January '69 Get Back Sessions and helped record a decent attempt.

Thanks so much for sharing this, I haven't listened to all but that All Things Must Pass version is just just amazing.
Here comes the sun….. Scoobie-doobie……
Something in the way she moves…..attracts me like a cauliflower…
Bop. Bop, cat bop. Go, Johnny, Go.
Beware of Darkness…
Some, if not all, of these also appear in the documentary (I presume they all do but can't be sure). I really like the My Sweet Lord demo when he hasn't quite worked out *that* chord, and is feeling around for it on the guitar.

Did anyone notice if this cd got released on its own and not just in the box; found two copies in two different stores in Glasgow, both being sold for £6 each but have always though you had to get the box to get the cd?

I don’t know what it was called in the DVD box set, but I know it was released separately in May 2012 as Early Takes: Volume 1. I remember it being mentioned in the reviews that it had originally been in the Deluxe DVD set, with them wondering if it signalled the beginning of a series of George outtakes/demos releases. There’s no Volume 2 yet though!

Yeah that’s the one and name. Completely missed or forgot its release outside of the box. Thanks mja.

I love this compilation but as good as it was I thought it was a little too short and I wonder if we will ever get a Volume 2 in the future? I kind of feel like that ship has sailed but it could happen.
They may skip to volume 3 in honor of George.

Clever…
I love this CD. This is my “go to” after a long night’s partying, once Zag and Zog have gone off to dreamland. I sip on one last adult beverage, slip on the headphones and completely chill out to this. More than once, I’ve been awoken by a soft kiss on the cheek*.

Sorry to reply 3 years late @meanmistermustard but I am in total agreement. These songs could/would have represented a way forward for the group and they (John & Paul) missed an etherial musical opportunity.

All the versions here have a lovely sense of charm, and for my money all the “All Things Must Pass ” material is far superior with Phil Spector’s overproduction missing. Giles did a lovely job with this, and so sad Volume 2 hasn’t been forthcoming – those demos are highly susceptible to ‘grey market’ releases given copyright hasn’t been extended from 50 years to 70 by even a limited release and it’s now 2020.
