Yes! This album is just so amazing. Stuck Inside A Cloud is my second favourite solo George song!
Oh, what’s your favorite?
I love Stuck Inside A Cloud too. I’m not sure if it’s my favorite on Brainwashed (there are sooooooo many good songs on Brainwashed) but it’s up there for sure.

Personally I can’t live without Marwa Blues. As for the rest, it’d be easier to list songs that aren’t my favourite so I won’t even try.

That’s also up there, for sure. Along with The Rising Sun, Brainwashed, Between The Devil And The Deep Blue Sea, and others.

Stuck Inside A Cloud is so sad though, it’s not one I can listen to that often.
The only song on Brainwashed I’m not that keen on is Never Get Over You although the slide redeems it a lot. It’s a very generic song and is way too over-produced (especially with Dhani’s vocals on top of George’s). I would love to hear a scaled back version.

Funny, that’s my favorite and one of the only songs from it that I like to play.

I’m one of those that loves Never Get Over You, I think it’s very sweet (presumably directed Olivia-wards) and puts me in mind of a more lowkey Something . I can see why you’d say it’s overproduced but I like it nonetheless.

Not a huge fan of Never Get Over You. It’s fine, it’s just not really my favorite kind of song. I feel the same way about Rocking Chair In Hawaii (although the first time I heard it, I immediately thought of this, because I am a little too obsessed with weird, old infomercials). I love every other song on Brainwashed, though, especially Looking For My Life, Stuck Inside A Cloud, and Run So Far.

Run So Far, Never Get Over You, and Looking For My Life are always lumped together in my mind for some reason, but I love them all. Probably the song I’m most eh about is Rocking Chair In Hawaii (DON’T KILL ME mmm) but really they’re all good.

It’s definitely got lots of pretty decent tracks on it – the one that I listen to on a very regular basis is P2 Vatican Blues (Last Saturday Night) because it’s so weird and I love it

I was listening to Brainwashed when I was driving to my exam this morning. From his line “brainwashed by mobile phones”, I wonder what he would think of the world in 2019?
I mean if he found folks were obsessed with phones in 2001, he’d be in for a big shock with the over-reliance a lot of society now has on them.

I’ve always thought that line was quite ahead of his time. I was only born 1999 and so I don’t remember mobile phones in the time he wrote the song, but I recall the early 2000’s. I don’t remember phones being a huge obsession back then. They definitely provided some sort of a distraction, but nowhere near what it is today.

"Sometimes I wish I was just George Harrison" - John Lennon
Recorded: 1988-2002
Producers: George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Dhani Harrison
Released: 19 November 2002
Jeff Lynne: “His life was in those final songs, the things he got up to each day, like riding down the River Thames. Lots of very personal stuff. Some of them are really good. We gradually just filled them in. It was just about mixing them and making them sound like George would like them. You just had to go with your gut feeling. I felt so bad for Dhani having to do that, after his dad had just passed on, but he really wanted to do it. He’s a good lad, Dhani. It was joyful when it sounded great – ‘Well done, George, nice one!’ – but such a shame he wasn’t there to hear it with us.”
