@Expert Textpert Are you trying to make me feel bad about my “hits compilation” list with your list of lesser-knowns?
It isn’t working, you know.

Listening to “Best Of Dark Horse ” and decided to trawl George’s sub-forum so I found this. It will be difficult not to list every George solo song I know.
- My Sweet Lord (makes me think of idyllic summer days)
- Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth) (so heartfelt and lovely, and his vocal makes it even better)
- Blow Away (pure poetry and happiness and Harrisonic love)
- Ballad Of Sir Frankie Crisp (paints everything I see in a more colourful light)
- When We Was Fab (you can’t not like it, there are too many Beatley things)
- Isn’t It A Pity (beautiful, you can really feel it– though I admit I like the demo better than the proper record)
- This Song (classic sly Harrison humour)
- Marwa Blues (I like instrumentals that make me trip out)
Mostly his bigger hits… I’ve only listened to compilations, not counting being brainwashed with “Brainwashed” as a Little Child … and that’s another story…
Um, yeah, I think I’ll edit that… In no particular order:
- Crackerbox Palace (hilarious in itself, and the music video…)
- Your Love Is Forever (it’s like a dream of a summer day)
- Let It Down (the acoustic version will reduce you to puddles)
- All Things Must Pass (It’s just poetry)
- Stuck Inside A Cloud (Ohhh George……)
- Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)
- Blow Away
- Ballad Of Sir Frankie Crisp
- Isn’t It A Pity
- Marwa Blues
- Apple Scruffs (It’s such a happy little tune and makes me proud to be a Harrifan)
- This Song
- Miss O’Dell (hilarious!)
- What Is Life (It’s jump-up-and-down-y)
- And a ton of others which I have yet to discover… 😀

And if I had to pick a top three, I would narrow it down to:
- Ballad Of Sir Frankie Crisp
- Blow Away
- Marwa Blues
In chronological order, you understand. The actual order fluctuates constantly.
EDIT: Make that top four– put What Is Life in there too.

Little Girl agrees. Whole heart-and-soulfully. Got My Mind Set On You is her favourite Harrisong ever… perhaps her favourite song ever, period.

^ I don’t like it much, never have since it was released.
Love the rest on that list, particularly Beware Of Darkness (I just came to this thread to note how much I like that song).

Same as trc with ‘Got My Mind Set On You’. Have always found it to be one of the weakest tracks on ‘Cloud Nine ‘.
Will have done it previously but too lazy to look thru the pages. Favourite George tracks in no particular order.
- Run Of The Mill
- Someplace Else
- The Light That Has Lighted The World (both the demo and album versions)
- Gone Troppo
- Dream Away
- Fish On The Sand
- Dark Sweet Lady
- Soft-Hearted Hana
- Cheer Down
- All Things Must Pass – 25th February 1969 demo (is that therefore a Beatles track, its on ‘Anthology 3 ‘? If illegible then ‘Deep Blue’)
There are a ton of notable additions and tracks that should be there but are not. I heard ‘Hear Me Lord ‘ earlier today for the first time in many months and it blew me away. Damn, i forgot ‘Art Of Dying’, ‘Awaiting On You All ‘ and even ‘It’s Johnny’s Birthday ‘ which is such a burst of insane merriment. I was asked to make someone called Johnny a birthday video years ago and over the end credits I put ‘It’s Johnny’s Birthday . The whole room looked totally bemused when it came on. And that was quite an achievement as the main audio track was the brilliant but little known nowadays ‘Johnny Remember Me‘.

No particular order of the current stayers except awesome (the proper awesome) to funny (the good funny):
Life Itself
Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)
Blow Away
Here Comes The Moon
That’s The Way It Goes
This Is Love
Cheer Down
Brainwashed
This Song (the PROPER version, that has the solo. Great video)
Crackerbox Palace (Hilarious video)
When We Was Fab (that’s not an air-fill. This is an air-fill. Another great video)
All Those Years Ago
Most of All Things Must Pass , it really is a remarkable album for its time I keep coming back to If Not For You which is one of my favourite covers of anything by anyone, proving that covers can change perceptions of the original if done right. Otherwise the usual suspects, Frankie Crisp, Wah-Wah , MSL, Isn’t It A Pity ?, Apple Scruffs , etc etc. I prefer the “demo” of Beware Of Darkness for the amazing vocal (beware of abko).

Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe. This has been true for 2016 & 2017 but I may have to get more specific in the future.

And in that vein, I recommend Blow Away (one of my top three), Crackerbox Palace (really nutty and lovely), Apple Scruffs (a lovely song that makes one proud to be a Harrifan), Miss O’Dell (he giggles pretty constantly throughout), and pretty much everything everyone posts here.
I think it’s wonderful that you’re exploring George’s solo work– I was on the very same place just a couple months ago, and I’m still in the discovery process. If you ever feel the need to rave about the wonderfulness of a song you just discovered, you know who to PM.

I dont hit the level of “awe”, more “listenable”. It’s a nice song but he wrote and recorded better (and which didn’t result in a stupid lawsuit that dragged on for decades).
