We have the favorite George solo song thread, but I'm curious as to what everyone's favorite George song is with the Beatles? I used to say Something , which probably was my overall favorite Beatle track for a while, but I would have to say now that Here Comes The Sun is my all time favorite of his. Top 3 would be that, Old Brown Shoe and…probably The Inner Light .

What say you? a-hard-days-night-george-1

Here Comes The Sun or If I Needed Someone . I like If I Needed Someone because it just seemed so honest.

Hmmmm… this is hard. Like seriously, I can't choose.

OK! Top Three:

Long, Long, Long

I, Me, Mine

While My Guitar Gently Weeps

Damn you George for having awesome songs a-hard-days-night-george-3

I don't know. I could say easily with John (Strawberry Fields) and Ringo (Octopus's Garden), and whilst my opinion on Paul's songs changes a lot, I generally know what my favourite is at any one time (currently Here, There, and Everywhere). With George, he has a lot of songs that have different merits but are similar in quality.

Whilst “I, Me, Mine” has been in my head all day, and I love Taxman and WMGGW, my favourite George song is probably the Anthology version of Something . It needs work, but the raw vocals are much more beautiful than the polished ones on the final take.

Honourary mentions to Love You To , I Want To Tell You , Piggies , Savoy Truffle , Here Comes The Sun , Old Brown Shoe , All Things Must Pass , and Not Guilty , which is a stupid number.

I told her I didn’t

Long, Long, Long . The music and the lyrics and are just perfect. I get a shiver down my spine when I hear those chords.

You all will have read that Dave Dee is no longer with us. But Mickey and Titch and I would like to carry on the good work that's always gone down in number two.

I Want To Tell You

Think For Yourself ”

Savoy Truffle

Wow, that was easy. (Meaning I was able to rattle them off the top of my head. I'll probably question myself all week.)

It tough to say.  I really enjoy George's psycadelic stuff.  But I dont know if I like them more than Something , Here Comes The Sun , or While My Guitar Gently Weeps (I love clapton too, which is an added bonus)

Top three though…just off the top of my head, like MMM said, I will probably think about this all day now.

While My Guitar Gently Weeps

That was the song that prompted me to say I know I spoke too soon. That and It's All Too Much.

Oh crap. Another thread in which I'm going to change my mind daily (hourly?).

*sigh*

For now…

1) WMGGW

2) For You Blue  (I think he sounds so happy in this song. Go Johhny go!)

3) Think For Yourself

See ya here again tomorrow. Darn you, GniknuS!a-hard-days-night-george-6

Hmmm, well my opinion's of George's Beatle songs change quite frequently so this could be very hard. Like for a while I liked his harder more bitter songs, and then I switched to that I liked his psycadelic phase, so I could be back to this topic again soon and say a different top three. But for now it would be

1. I Me Mine

2. I Need You

3. Taxman

1. Savoy Truffle

2. Within you, Without you

3. Something

The Beatles were just musical geniuses. Each song is a whole world in it's own. Simply Amazing.

So hard, they're all so awesome. off the top of my head I usually always enjoy: Old Brown Shoe , Something , Blue Jay Way , It's All too much, I Want To Tell You , Think for youself, Piggies , Savoy Truffle , The Inner Light . then I suppose everything else, at the bottom would be For You Blue , never got around to liking that one.
