Hey,
I've been hearing alot about when George says “Brackets” on youtube. But I can't seem to find the video anywhere, so I was wondering if you know any websites which has the video please? Could there be links posted? Thankyou!

Here you go (I searched Google Videos for 'beatles brackets' : http://ugomemo.hatena.ne.jp/52…..2FE087_008
No idea when this was from. Apparently 1963, my guess is a BBC radio interview. If I find out more I'll let you know.
Bonus points for the first person to convert this to a ringtone.

OK, here's what I've found out. George happened to say the word 'brackets' on episode four of Pop Go The Beatles, taped 17 June 1963. He then announced So How Come (No One Loves Me) in episode 6 (10 July) by saying the word when announcing the song (“So how come brackets no one loves me brackets”).
The sound clip above was recorded for episode 14 on 3 September 1963, with presenter Rodney Burke.

Joe, I just woke up, and you've completely made my day.
I've never heard this before! I don't know how I ever got this far in life without ever hearing it before, but apparently I wasn't really living.

Yeah, he even makes being called “a drag” sound really good in A Hard Day's Night for that very reason. 🙂

Yes he did!
I still don't remember that scene. An Excuse to re-see the movie on my recently aquired DVD

I think it would be awesome to be so famous that people want you to say “brackets.” But then again…
I love the mental image I have of that studio being deluged with hundreds of cards requesting that George says “brackets” on air again. It's pretty funny.

Imagine a Brackets-Related Death Threat: George, Say Brackets or you won't live long enough to regret it.

Nah, more likely to happen is the collective thud of hundreds of 12 year old girls hitting the floor in a faint.
