Thanks to some great contributions on this thread, there’s a hierarchy for people to progress through, depending on how many posts they’ve written on this forum.

People with fewer than five posts are tagged “A Beginning”, after the Anthology 3 tune. From then on they can progress from St Peter’s Church, where John Lennon met Paul McCartney , through to the Apple rooftop. To progress through each stage you’ll need around 10 posts to your name, although this interval may change in future.

  1. A Beginning
  2. St Peter’s Church
  3. Casbah Coffee Club
  4. The Jacaranda
  5. The Indra
  6. The Kaiserkeller
  7. The Top Ten Club
  8. The Star-Club
  9. The Cavern Club
  10. Decca
  11. EMI Studios
  12. The London Palladium
  13. Royal Command Performance
  14. Paris Olympia
  15. The Ed Sullivan Show
  16. Carnegie Hall
  17. Hollywood Bowl
  18. Shea Stadium
  19. Candlestick Park
  20. Rishikesh
  21. Apple rooftop

It’s only a bit of fun, so please don’t leave masses of messages just to raise your status. No-one will think better of you for it Wink

Is it OK if new people (like me) comment frequently? Not to raise our statuses, but to get acquainted with the forums? a-hard-days-night-ringo-4

Anyone's welcome to start topics as long as they're sensible, relevant and in the right part of the forum. As long as it's the sort of thing others might want to join in on, go right ahead.

Welcome to the forum, btw.

EMI Studios IS Abbey Road – it wasn't officially named “Abbey Road ” until sometime after the fact. (Didn't learn this nugget myself until recently, on this very site.)

BTW, Joe, I've loved those designations ever since I realized the rationale behind them!  (Me, I might've included “'Our World' Telecast” in place of Rishikesh, but I guess that's not exactly a geographical location. Plus, it probably outshines the Apple rooftop, which would make it kinda counterproductive.

Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

Yeah but A Beginning isn't a place OR event. It's a song. I mean, you can get into to it but not physically. BUT!!!! BUT!!! We could have maybe possibly kinda added the Magical Mystery Tour Bus.

I suppose you could change it to, “Honey, we need to talk” or “Still in short pants”. Not that it really matters when you're only in one event/place for ten posts. a-hard-days-night-paul-10
