Embedding a YouTube video is dead easy, as long as embedding is enabled.
Simply paste the URL of the video into a message. Copy and paste it from the address field in your browser, or alternatively scroll down to the Share button and copy the link from there.
Strip out &feature=related or similar if you see it. Anything beginning with an ampersand (& ) is known as a query string and isn’t relevant here. If you leave it in it’ll still show up, as at the end of the video here: feature=related
If embedding is disabled, the link will just show up in the message.

Not sure what I was thinking when I wrote that. Just paste a YouTube link on a line on its own and it should work out. Take out &feature etc if you see it in the URL.

Joe,if you have time, could you tell me what I did wrong on this other topic — it seems like my YouTube link there has no “&” stuff, but still it just came out as a plain link:

Thanks

It looks like auto-embed doesn’t work if it’s an https:// link rather than an http:// one. You should only get the former if you’re signed in to YouTube. If you are, and want to embed, can you remember to take out the ‘s’ when pasting in the URL?
