Is there any fictional character…or anything for that matter, that reminds you of a forumpudlian when going about your daily routine?

When I think of Mal, two thoughts come to mind – @Into the Sky with Diamonds and my dog Lily (named after mal’s wife) – but not necessarily in that order! Sorry, Doc.

Not an incident, but a person. My wife.
Now the question. What would you say if I said that George Martin was the fifth Beatle, and without his talent, knowledge and hard (and poorly paid) work The Beatles would have been just another band?

I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

Good one.
When I think about how long it took them to record Pepper, I laugh about how little time it took for them to record PPM . Both albums are gems.
What springs to mind when you see this “smiley”: ?

I believe George Martin had more than “some ability I suppose”. Granted, he was no composer, but he had the classical training and the know-how to make them sound the way they did. He was a big part of The Beatles’ sound (think of the first recordings, think of Strawberry Fields Forever –have you heard what the song was like when John took it to George Martin, and also to Paul? It was nothing) Think of his arrangements for All You Need Is Love , or his solo for In My Life . Of course those who aren’t objective and still are into the Beatlemania, fifty years later, into the four witty adorable lads from Liverpool, will always deny that. He is not part of the myth. Also without Brian Epstein’s ability to create an image that was new, and to sell it, there would have been no Beatlemania. I’m not denying the genius in Paul and John, just saying that without GM their recordings would sound flatter, poorer, more average. The interview is nothing but a huge ego talking about himself first, then about George Martin.

White Album
Ah, the “White Album ”… It makes me think of when I was sixteen and used to return from high school to listen to it (I only had the “White Album “, Revolver , and the Blue Anthology then). Many times I would doze off listening to I’m So Tired or Blackbird … Those were happy days, although at that time I didn’t know it…
“The Long And Winding Road / That leads to your door…”; those lines (and the whole song), who so you think about when you hear them?
