@Beatleva Paul! Trick question! And his first name is James.

How many times did The Beatles appear on Ed Sullivan?

The Beatles were on Ed Sullivan 4 times: 3 in ’64 and once in ’65.

Either Paul or John, I think they both the same height though.

Whatever Paul.

You Really Got A Hold On Me has a running time of 3 minutes and 1 second according to my itunes.

Forgot that ‘Why (Can’t You Love Me Again)’ which they recorded with Tony Sheridan runs for 3 minutes and 1 second. It turns out that Nobody’s Child drags on for 3 minutes 54 and The Saints (When The Saints Go Marching In) is 3 minutes 17 seconds.

@meanmistermustard, the songs you named are indeed longer than 3 minutes. But the answer I was looking for was Ticket To Ride .

The first Beatles single to be longer than three minutes, Ticket To Ride was heralded by the music press upon its release as a departure from the group’s familiar territory. Certainly its unusual drum patterns and downbeat lyrics were a departure from The Beatles’ usual upbeat optimism.

Now I see, that I might have gotten it wrong, because it says single… I’ve done some more research, and it is confusing, some sources say it is indeed Ticket To Ride and others say it is She’s A Woman … So I still don’t really know.

Apologies for the confusion!

I presume She’s A Woman doesnt count as a single as it was a b-side whereas Ticket To Ride was the first 3+ minute a-side.

My answer for Beatleva’s question is “One After 909 “. It was almost featured on Please Please Me , but was rejected at the last minute. The Beatle then brought it back during the Let It Be sessions. It’s also one of my favorite Beatles songs.
