Today’s metaphor is fruit:

If the Beatles were fruits, what fruit would each one be?

Paul:  blueberry

John: green apple

Ringo: banana

George: concord grape

**************************

I encourage other readers to come up with any other thing from nature or ideas to compare the Fab Four with (like colors, flowers, animals, days of the week, sports games, planets, whatever…)

If they were dogs:

John: a Pit-bull

Paul: a Boxer

George: a German Sheppard

Ringo: a Chihuahua

And nope, I’m not thinking about the physical aspect of the breeds, but their character.

Edit: Isn’t a banana too phallic for Ringo?

Thanks for playing along, Oudis.  I like the chihuahua for Ringo! (My banana was sort of going off his nose, and his vaguely comical vibe…)

More metaphors:

If the Beatles were animals in general:

John:  a lion

Paul:  a horse

George:  an eagle

Ringo:  a tomcat.

Thanks for those ingredients! That would make the Beatles a tasty soup or salad!

I agree with the John Onion and Paul pretty much Tomato, but to me Ringo is the carrot and George the broccoli…

Ah guys, I’m so sorry. I hate to be the party pooper but… tomatoes are actually fruit, not vegetables. Why don’t you look for another veggie for Sir Paul?

Damn. I forgot. How about lettuce or peas for Paul. Funny Paper is right, Ringo should be carrot instead.

Ringo seems more like a mushroom to me, he seems like a fun guy. John, if a little food prep’s allowed, a pickled onion. George, I agree on broccoli. Paul, could be the carrot (on a stick).

I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

The Presidents on Mount Rushmore:

Image Enlarger

John: George Washington as The Father of The Beatles.

Paul: Abraham Lincoln as the one who worked hardest to keep them all united.

George: Thomas Jefferson for his love of growing things and the (primary) author of the beautifully written Declaration of Independence.

Ringo: Theodore Roosevelt – the comparisons are remarkable. The outgoing personality, Ringo’s wanting to be a cowboy and both were sickly as children.

John – Lemon; A bit sour, but adds a lot of flavor.

Paul – Strawberry; sweet but not unbearably so.

George – Apple; Taken for granted, but a tasty and versatile fruit.

Ringo – Grape; well-rounded, flavorful, basic but not boring, usually sweet, but when sour it’s not bad. Besides, he likes grapes!

Inspired by parlance‘s post in the LOLs thread, the Beatles as pancakes:

John: Strawberry (Fields Forever) Pancakes
Paul: (Gonna do it sweet) Banana Pancakes
George: (For You) Blueberry Pancakes
Ringo: (Snooker) Rhubarb Pancakes – this one was a loooong stretch. So sue me.

Thanks for the link, parlance!

Clever. I had to search Paul’s and Ringo’s as I haven’t yet delved into their solo careers, and needless to say I don’t get the latter’s. But coming from you, I’d again say, clever.a-hard-days-night-john-5
