Oct. 26, 1972 Through the 60s & 70s JET was the leading magazine to focus on news, culture, and entertainment related to the African-American community. It was particularly well known for chronicling the activities of the civil rights movement. John was one of only a handful of caucasians to ever appear on the cover. Yoko was the only person of Asian ancestry to ever appear.

#25Oct. 1, 2016 I never really thought of John and Yoko as proponents of healthy living, but I dig the picture anyway.
Bonus cover:
May 1,2004 John as revolutionary Che Guevara.
I’m pretty sure John spoke about his healthy eating in the interviews he was giving in 1980 but depending on who you believe either John was very keen on healthy eating and watching what he ate or he was a bulimic who forever battled with his food addictions and drugs.

Dec. 1, 1995 The week when Anthology was broadcast was so much fun. The first time I saw the Free As A Bird video, I totally got lost in it.
Bonus cover:
July 1965 Ed Sullivan as the 5th Beatle. I actually had this cover in my collection (another one stolen from my folks).

I found that Q magazine years later in a barbers. No idea why they had it lying out but they didn’t have it after I left.

Dec. 28, 1988 It was super difficult to find a magazine cover featuring the Wilburys. I have a feeling they may have been a bit shy about posing as a group, which may explain why they never toured.
Bonus cover:
Nov. 3, 1985 This experience may have helped Ringo find his sobriety. He looks both proud and happy.

Dec. 1, 1969 This was the final edition of The Beatles Monthly. It marked the public beginning of the end, culminating with a farewell letter from the fan club at the end of summer in 1971. This was a real bummer time for Beatle fans, especially with John and Paul constantly belittling each other. A month later my draft board came a-calling and I was off to exile. I didn’t think too much about the ex-Beatles until a few months later when I heard…
…and it was just like starting over.

From memory, they went through the original ‘Beatle Books’ with the additional outer pages and then did a different format for a while? The also did ‘Record Collector’ magazine which obviously strongly featured Beatle rarities. I think the Beatles one just petered out as it was really only Paul with any chart presence in the 80s?

I don’t know. There was a lot going on during the mid-90’s, George put out ‘Cloud Nine ‘ in ’87 and the second run didn’t end until 2002. A great read for Beatles news at a time when I didn’t have access to the internet 24/7. I still remember the early track listing for ‘Anthology 2 ‘ with a good few tracks that were changed and the possible selections for ‘A3’ which never appeared when officially released.
Another proposed release was a 1998 ‘White Album ‘ 30th anniversary box with outtakes that got ditched and instead we got the mini-replica on CD and a $200 pen. Only took another 20 years for us to get the box.

#30! The November issue of Uncut magazine will feature an interview with Paul about McCartney III . Cover photograph by Mary McCartney.
What a well timed way to end this series of photos!

(I’ve had a quick scan through this thread and I don’t think this has been done yet, but correct me if I’m wrong)
30 best pictures of Beatles with their/other Beatle kids:
#1: Dhani with Paul (and Eric) at the Concert for George – just to show that it doesn’t have to be pictures of kids with their corresponding Beatle dad!
I’ve always loved footage from this gig. McCartney said to the audience, “Olivia said that with Dhani up on stage, it looks like George stayed young and we all got old.”

Great cover (hot off the press too!) This is a great time to be both a Paul McCartney and Neil Young fan. I’ll be searching for my copy of this mag today.
