Offline I’ll bet none of you Forumpuddlians have seen this photo! The dirt bike belongs to the son of Curly Putnam Jr., the writer of Green Green Grass of Home, and many other fine country songs. Apparently, Curly Putnam jumped at the chance to let Paul and his Wings entourage use his farmstead to record some music for a couple of weeks, while he and his family vacationed in Hawaii (Paul paid him a handsome sum).
This was in 1974. It was during that stay that Paul and his Wingmen recorded Junior’s Farm. How cool would that have been to hear Junior’s Farm emanating from a barn in Tennessee while one is smoking a joint nearby leaning against a hickory tree on a sunny day (and maybe complementing that with some Boone’s Farm strawberry wine).
