Love the images!
@SgtPeppersBulldog, I prefer the final album artwork, as you can see the french horn more clearly, as John is holding it, and I play the french horn!
Off topic: @The Hole Got Fixed Greetings fellow french horn player!!!
Back on topic: I love that picture of John, Cynthia and Ringo at the premiere for How I Won the War. I adore what John is wearing and Cynthia looks gorgeous!!!

^ Did John time travel into the mid 1980’s to take that picture? The hair. The clothes. The expression on his face.

Hello –
Coming out of lurkdom for a matter of utmost importance. 😉 Those of you who remember me from when I was most active on the board know that my favorite era of Paul is ’67 (post Sgt Pepper pornstache) to ’68 (pre facial hair, naturally), when he most closely resembled an anime character. 😀 It is known in my head as Hot Paul (TM) period, to the point that even my friends know to refer to it to photos from these years as Hot Paul (TM). One of the things I’ve been looking forward to in 2017 is the emergence of never-before-seen photos from the Hot Paul period. I suspect you might see more of me in this section these days as a result.
So, I realized we were coming up on the 50th anniversary of the beginning of this period, and I did a quick search. The earliest pics I’ve seen Paul post-pornstache is when he’s with Jane Asher at the Denver airport (according to the Beatles Bible timeline, Paul was there from April 4-9 of ’67). Google produced these photos, one from the airport, and another at her 21st birthday party: The airport photo is often said to be taken April 4th or 5th, depending on the source. Jane’s birthday was the 5th.
He’s still got his ‘stache at the birthday party. So unless Paul had the ability to regrow it in the space of a day, I think it’s more likely the photo was taken when Paul was leaving Denver, rather than arriving. Also, I came across this photo taken of Paul in San Francisco when he was visiting with Jefferson Airplane in San Francisco on April 4:
My guess is that Paul shaved while he was with Jane in Denver. I’m probably the only person who cares, but I had fun doing that bit of sleuthing on the Emergence of Hot Paul.

That’s a cool topic, The Hot Paul period!
Which sources state the first picture was taken in Denver? A few sources I found indicate it was taken at London airport on the 28th of May 1967 (http://www.meetthebeatlesforre…..omber.html and http://janeasher.webs.com/apps…..=168984052 ) maybe my sources are not serious enough? Additionally, there was a photograph in a newspaper article that shows Paul arriving in England after his stay in America (12th of April according to beatlesbible history) which shows Paul still with his mustache ( http://www.dmbeatles.com/forum…..=11572.420 ) so the mustache was probably shaved between the 12th of April and the 28th of May 1967

Thanks, Martha! You’re probably right, as I trust Meet the Beatles for Real. I kept seeing this photo pop up over the past few years in various sources with a reference to Denver. But it sounds like we’ve got a month or two to go before Hot Paul period starts. 😀
Edit: We can narrow the period down the 19th of May, as that’s the press launch for Sgt Pepper at Brian’s home:
Also, thanks for the Jane Asher page. I see they have a few of my favorite photos of Paul and Jane with Martha, which they say were taken in May of ’67 like this one.

From TimeOut:
These never-before-seen photos of The Beatles are coming to a Chelsea gallery
The Morrison Hotel Gallery is premiering an an exclusive selection of images on June 1 that offer an insider’s perspective on the 1967 “All You Need Is Love ” session, part of the first-ever live global satellite broadcast. That broadcast, called Our World, featured performers from 19 different countries and was closed out by The Beatles’ performance.
Here’s a sneak peek (the group one we’ve definitely seen before):

Posted on @Ahhh Girl’s recommendation and request.
A major new set of unseen Beatles photographs taken on 25 and 26 August 1967, during their visit to Bangor to attend the Maharishi’s TM conference, their stay shortened by Brian’s unfortunate death, are to be auctioned by Omega Auctions on 11 September. In all, 101 photographs, including the negatives and copyright, make up the lot, which is estimated at between £10,000-£15,000 (a higher amount reached would not surprise me).
This Daily Mail article contains some of the pictures. The auction catalogue (search for lot 224, as I cannot find a way to link directly to the page) contains 72 of the images, and gives the following description:
THE BEATLES IN BANGOR 1967 – incredible collection of 101 previously unseen and unpublished negatives featuring high quality images of The Beatles when they visited Bangor on the 25th & 26th August 1967 for a 10 day conference on Transcendental Meditation with the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. The images range from candid individual portraits, shots of them entering and leaving the conference, group shots and pictures with their wives and girlfriends of the time. The Beatles left the conference early following the tragic announcement of Brian Epstein’s death on Sunday 27th August which as the vendor explains is why the images were never used. The images (of which 72 are shown in the listing) are to be sold with full copyright. Provenance: Taken in person by the vendor who was a freelance photographer at the time and later went on to work for the BBC for 31 years.
The pictures are well worth a look.

The hair is an illusion…if you look closely, it’s definitely 1967 John with his shortish hair, but the mirror he’s sitting in front of reflects it off to the side just enough so that it looks like a shaggy 80s mullet. That picture confused me for years when I was younger! 😆
