Very interesting video here where someone called Piet Schreuders has found the actual locations of photos from the 1963 Stockholm trip and overlayed them into the video. A few were also used on record sleeves like Revolver .

That dude standing in the back of the last photo is not amused by the Beatles’ antics, doesn’t see what all the fuss is about.

That last one would be good for the Caption It game. Why is John acting like he is taking Paul’s pulse?

Examiner article on a newly released photo from 1963. The gallery claims it was the Cavern, but 1963 would be too late. The Examiner author said he’s checking into it.

Could be the Odeon Cinema in Liverpool on the 7th December 1963 and the Cavern part is wrong. Purely a guess.
If it’s the work of this Photographer (can’t see the photos as now blocked ?copyright)

Perhaps the Empire on 22nd of December, as on the 7th, they have a mad day – Juke Box Jury filmed there, followed by BBC filming of the gig, then away to the Odeon for another gig.

An interesting pre-release ad for the Please Please Me album as it has completely different typography:
Not sure I’ve ever seen it in this early form before.

I’m glad it didn’t come out like that — it looks terribly dated now.

It is interesting that the only thing out of place is the lettering, and yet that makes it look so very out of time.
It shows how you get one thing wrong, it takes you off at the knees!!!!

I take it that it was an early prototype due to the white block behind the text and not someone at the last minute saying it looked terrible, get it changed.
Here it is easier to see.
Edit:
Wogblog has it on their page for the album cover with the following text underneath
When The Beatles were on tour with Chris Montez and Tommy Roe, an advertisement for the Please Please Me album was featured in the tour programme. The cover is a mock up, as final typefaces had not been decided upon yet.

On 12 September, The Beatles were recording at Abbey Road (working on Hold Me Tight , Don’t Bother Me , Little Child and I Wanna Be Your Man ). They were photographed by fashion photographer Norman Parkinson throughout the day, both at AR and the President Hotel in Bloomsbury, for Queen magazine. Some of the images are more familiar than others.
The above are among the 11 colour and 95 b&w images in a new book, London, 1963. Norman Parkinson, which documents the session.
All pictures copyright The Norman Parkinson Archive and Iconic Images.

Over in the Miscellaneous Questions thread @50yearslate asked about the following picture:
As I said there, it’s them in costume for their main sketch in The Beatles Christmas Show at the end of 1963.
Further to what I said there, I can add that the picture was taken during a rehearsal for the show on 20 December 1963. It was probably taken by Trevor Clark for The Beatles Book Monthly. Here are another few pictures from the rehearsal. Enjoy the dastardly Sir Jasper meet his match when Fearless Paul comes to the rescue.

It’s 1963, @Leppo, messing around during a Dezo Hoffman photoshoot. John’s jacket is the giveaway. He’s wearing it in lots of Dezo’s photos. Looks like it could well be from this session looking at both John and Paul’s dress:It’s likely to be from April or late June 1963.
Thanks yes I did wonder if it could be 1963 but it does look like it must be from this session.
