Offline @Joe Thought you might find this interesting. This is the photograph of Stuart and John’s Gambier Terrace “flat” used in The People‘s THIS IS THE BEATNIK HORROR article in July 1960. Note the poster/flyer on the wall – The Silver Beetles below Gerry and the Pace-Makers, and Allan Williams sitting on the left of the fireplace.

Offline In Paul’s handwriting, from May/early June, a setlist for their run of Saturday gigs during June/July at the Grosvenor Ballroom in Wallasey as The Silver Beetles. You can tell it’s not for a single gig as there are many *’s songs, and if you check the * it reads “ones which aren’t done every week”. So this shows them taking care not to perform the same set there every week. Some interesting song titles in this:

Feck, @Mademoiselle Kitty >^..^<! I hadn’t noticed those! And had to move my screen around to make them out! I think added later, as Lawdy Miss Clawdy sits beside the list of things to take with them, “Words, Strings, Plec”. Maybe as they were looking for more possibles to avoid repeating themselves too much.
