I was working in the stacks yesterday and came across this book. The cover art has a definite Yellow Submarine vibe. The books was published in January of 1965. I Googled the illustrator’s name (Baniprosonno) to see if I could find a Beatles connection, but nothing came up. I did find someone that agreed with my assessment though “With b&w illustrations and a front cover illustration that is curiously Yellow Submarine -like.”
If anyone finds some kind of link to YS, please let us know.

As reported by the Daily Beatle, three excerpts from the binned 2009 remake.
No idea why Jeremy is the overweight cousin of the genie from Aladdin.
No wonder it was cancelled. That looks truly, truly awful. Same as all those latter day 3D cartoons that give animals anthropomorphic qualities, usually accompanied by the cheesiest, most over-the-top American voices dripping in “I’m so funny” dialogue whilst clearly not being… Bring back Fred Quimby Tom & Jerry I say, not that is funny.

I’ve seen a post on Twitter which shared a concept of the Vacuum monster for the aborted remake by Robert Zemeckis.
I prefer to warn, it’s a little scary!
I will never understand why the production team wanted to make this remake with a very realistic aspect when the whole concept of Yellow Submarine is the psychedelic style.

There’sa very boring urge to make everything dark and gritty at the moment. I think people are hungry for optimism, but the studios etc haven’t caught up.

Because of the box offices failures of the previous movies of the style.

One of my reltives worked on a lot of those weird photorealistic movies I think he may I have worked on this one (He worked on Moster House and Polar express and I think that the same studio was going to do Yellow Submarine ). . I think the reason it was in that style was because of the Techonology they wanted to use (Motion Capture) and at the time the Movies with MoCap ended up looking like…that.
I think that if they wanted to make a Yellow Subamrine remake/reboot they should do it in 2d style or some style that is simlar to the orginal. I mean the orginal has mulitple sytles but they only change when there’s a musical sequence (Ex. Eleanor Rigby sequence, Only A Northern Song , Lucy in the Sky).

I think remaking Yellow Submarine was an extraordinarily bad idea. But I’d be open to some kind of sequel. The Yellow Submarine visits the Octopus’s Garden , anyone?

I heard that was a rumored sequel that was never really even started because the Beatles broke up (My source in a youtube comment so take it with a grain of salt). I would totally be open for a sequel for the movie, as long as it had the same feeling as the orginal.

I haven’t seen that idea anywhere, but I don’t claim it as especially original. I’d be surprised if it hasn’t occurred to a lot of people.
