Any fans of the film Withnail & I on here?

I thought it was interesting as George Harrison was a producer of the film. It is also interesting as it is one of the few films that actually feature a fully licensed Beatles song (WMGGW).

My opinion of the film is that it is essentially hilarious and incredibly quotable. It also has an air of Britishness that I can really relate to. What are your opinions?

You all will have read that Dave Dee is no longer with us. But Mickey and Titch and I would like to carry on the good work that's always gone down in number two.

Oh, I love “Withnail & I”! So hilarious and depressingg. One of the most quotable movies ever, I agree – it's up there with “The Big Lebowski” and “All About Eve” and “Plan 9 From Outer Space”.

Personally, the most quotable movie is Casablanca, but I haven’t seen this one. Guess I need to.

'When the fall's all that's left, it matters a great deal.

I forget, everyone can edit their own posts afterwards, yes?

Ad hoc, ad loc, and quid pro quo! So little time! So much to know!

I love Withnail. It’s a film I could never get tired of watching. Great soundtrack but even better dialogue.

One of my favourite films, can watch over and over again. “We want the finest wines known to man, we want them here, and we want them now” is just perfection. As is the politically incorrect comment shouted (clearly humourously) whilst driving past schoolgirls which these days would probably get them on a register somewhere… George had a keen eye in what to invest in. The level of debauchery is both staggering and very funny.

Funny and tragic at the same. Absolutely timeless film.

My Last clips, I promise but there are so many quotable moments.

The second clip here is a mash up of Star Wars and Withnail, the first time I saw it (many years ago), I couldn’t stop laughing, it’s worth a view:

Hahahaha that was hilarious and brilliant! Love the idea of a surly foul-mouthed Threepio constantly needing booze. Thanks for posting that, Penny Lane
